This is a good all.around kit for sharpening. The stones are about 7 inches long and double sided .It includes a glove and strop,too. If you are less familiar with this method,you can get a gauge to help maintain a proper angle . Comes in a sturdy box and stores there . Many instructions on YT for use of sharpening stones. I highly advise viewing some,then practice on something inexpensive,not your wife's $300 sewing shears . Reasonably priced .

It was a gift the person loved it.

The stones are nice and flat, they work well with water and I was able to grind many knives quickly and efficiently if you at least somewhat know what you're doing. The bamboo has a rubber base that holds pretty well on a rough surface but not a slick one. I had to put water down under the rubber to make it hold still on my countertop. Tried the knife holder gadget just to see how it would go, and it quickly fell apart (the white stone sliders fell out). Don't rely on this part for long - it's just a plastic clip with some stones snapped into it. Tried the chisel grinder, and this was my biggest mistake. As I was grinding, the chisel rotated slightly out of the holder, and cut about a 0.5mm deep, 3mm wide gash in the surface of the 400 stone. This will give me an opportunity to test the surface grinder/leveler, but I was really hoping not to need to do this so soon after I bought it. In short: the stones are good. Probably avoid the toys and you'll be fine.

I'm very impressed with the comprehensive nature of this Sharpening Stone Set. I sharpen all of my kitchen knives and workshop blades so, having a good set of whetstones is vital. Not many things are more dangerous than blunt or chipped blades and, keeping them in good order is essential for kitchen and workshop safety. This Set really is very good indeed and should give good service for many years use.

Lovely kit, well put together. My One little gripe is that it needs a heavier box for shipping as the one I got was not sealed , (although I don't think any are sealed) and could have opened.

The stones work well, excellent value, easy to set up and use.

Good for entry level sharpeners, but you would eventually want to move onto proper sharpening stones like KING. The set is not bad, the base is a bit plasticy and low quality, but overall price happy.
