This is a great bird feeder that does not spill a lot on the ground (which causes weeds). It also stays cleaner than the other I have.

The cap on top of the feeder is a light-weight plastic and does not clip or snug into place. As a result, the wind can cause it to rise up. This has not been a problem for me. (If it was, a small piece of duct tape would take care of it). Contrary to other reviews, I'm not having any issues whatsoever with larger birds muscling the smaller ones off the feeder. For the money, it's a great feeder. You can't purchase an inexpensive feeder and get mad because it does not perform like one that costs 2-3 times more.

I bought this feeder because I had a fancy ceramic one that I procured at an arts festival, but the birds were not eating out of it. It turns out, the birds are attracted to feeders more when they can see the food. This feeder, being clear, allows the birds to clearly see the food and they come flocking in to take advantage of the free buffet.As many reviewers state, this feeder is light and does swing around in the wind. I was concerned about this at first and through that I would just bring the feeder inside when the wind kicked up. I live in a very windy location (average winds can easily get over 10-15 mph and often get much higher). So long as the feeder isn't mostly empty, then it seems to do OK. It will swing around, but not dump out any seed. I just leave the feeder outside now unless we have a storm coming in that is extremely windy.The build quality is OK, but for the price, I didn't expect it to be awesome. It is built well enough to be functional, reasonably sturdy and should last a while. The overall design is pretty standard for this style of feeder, but that isn't always a good thing. The birds tend to shovel half the food out when eating, so much of the food ends up on the ground. This isn't entirely bad as there are plenty of birds that prefer to eat on the ground. We have finches that eat out of the feeder and doves and quail that eat the seed spilled on the ground. The downside of so much seed being spilled is that you go through a lot of bird food and some of the seeds go uneaten and end up sprouting.This is a decent feeder and I would get it again, but I would likely choose a model that had more spots for birds to land and eat as they tend to fight over the two spots that are available to eat from. I also find that the birds prefer this cheap feeder over the fancier one I got at the arts festival. I guess I have one that looks nice and one that functions nice.Update: 09/18/2018I have had the bird feeder hanging outside for several weeks now. I decided it was due for a wash. Using mild dish soap, water and a sponge, the paint was damaged on all surfaces that were exposed to direct sunlight (as far as I can tell). It's like the clear coat came off and the paint oxidized (like what you see on a lot of early 90's American cars). I'm not sure if continued cleanings is going to cause more damage to the painted surfaces, but so far it seems like it will still work, just not be quite as attractive. Due to this, I am changing my rating from 4 to 3 stars.

I have been trying different birdfeeders to find one that was squirrel proof. All squirrels have been able to get in every feeder but this is the first one that I actually have had that does not let the squirrels get on. I’m really happy with my purchase

This is easy to put feed in and the birds seem to like it. Very happy so far!

Practical and easy to fill. More important, the clear tube is a much thicker & heavier gauge plastic than most any other tube-type feeder I've used. This feature alone makes it worth the price. I don't know much about the advantage of the anti-bacterial coating. Perhaps an ornithologist can post a qualified opinion. I clean and disinfect my bird feeders regularly, so the anti-bacterial coating may be unnecessary. I'm sure it would help protect the birds in the event I did not disinfect the feeder properly — which brings me to my reason for awarding just 4 out of 5 stars: One of the things I look for in a bird feeder is the ease with which it can be cleaned, and it is here that the feeder falls short. The two feeding stations/perches are riveted to the tube and cannot be removed (unless you drill out the rivets and refasten them in some other way on your own — this is something I may attempt). Other than that, I like the feeder very much. A very good feeder at a fair price.
