Genius....
As a teacher, as a business owner and as a cultural anthropologist fascinated by human behavior, the concepts revealed in The Pendulum are powerful. The knowing of where we are culturally in the midst of the pendulum swing allows us to use the right words and marketing campaigns or terms of inspiration to touch the hearts of those we work with. While I have never heard Roy Williams present this, I have heard Michael Drew and have had the honor of meeting him personally. "Intelligent"doesn't even begin to touch the level of genius in the way his mind works. He is brilliant and at the same time self-observant, which allows him to interface with the rest of the world with warmth and humanity. This exact same ability is what allowed him to create the concept/book of The Pendulum. He applied his genius mind to the the observation of mankind throughout history, recognized patterns and used that information to assist us in seeing the trajectory into the future--a powerful thing to be able to do in the realm of education, manufacturing and marketing.WHAT I LOVE about the presentation of this material, both spoken and written, is the playful, fun, pop-culture examples and images they use to illustrate their points....music we all remember, movies we all saw....advertisements....mixed in with world events. They have taken a look at history and made it relevant and meaningful....and FUN to explore! For me, picking up a book that is totally packed with words with no open spaces or images overwhelms me....even if I want to read it for the material, I'll put it back on the shelf if it looks to hard to read. The Pendulum is laid out in such and fun and user-friendly manner that it just begs to be read..... and you will not regret a moment of honoring that request!

Worth the read.
I saw the author on the Glenn Beck program not long ago as he discussed the Pendulum theory on Beck’s ‘The Vault.’ I found his presentation interesting enough that I wanted to read the book. I feel that his pendulum theory is mostly accurate, which explains our experience of déjà vu every few decades. Over the last few years, people have become quite reminiscent of the WWII era, even if we weren’t alive during that era – there is something in the air that *feels* like that time. After reading the book, I know what it is – the WE era.I can’t say that the book made me feel better about my life because it certainly didn’t. I’m 40 years old and the future looks rather bleak for me on most levels, but my children will fare much better and that gives me relief. Now, I must give them an idea of what lies ahead for them so they can be better prepared than I was for a societal shift. I’d like to thank the author for putting this out there. It’s great information to have and hopefully it will combat what is to come.Onto the writing and structure of the book. I think it could have been laid out better. I like a more organized feel when reading a book of this nature. If I were the authors, I would have left out the pictures and diagrams, as they do not translate well on Kindle.

Excellent primer on the subject.
Intriguing and, from some points of view, scary insights but definitely worth the read. The style is good and I find the author affable, sounds like a fun guy with whom to speak. I gave four instead of five stars only because I found myself wanting a bit more depth in the information, but it was still interesting; actually it makes me want to read The Fourth Turning even more. It’s not a straight through narrative, but has many asides and illustrations/diagrams and these help make the analysis more accessible, if not more detailed. This book is especially illuminating for our current time in politics and society.

Nothing New Under the Sun!
Great Book, and Love the Word of God used in it. Great at 50 years old and the 40 applies because at 10 you have a mind that can remember and process things going on.A bad scientist agrees with his discovery, and a good one tries to disprove it. Learnt that "Pendulum: How Past Generations Shape Our Present and Predict Our Future "Great book if you haven't read it, it reveals much about what is likely to come.Ecclesiastes 1:9“The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.”King James Version (KJV)

Such an interesting read
I am a graphic designer and my manager wanted us to keep up with the times with design by looking ahead. He recommended this book to us because it talks a lot about what the past has brought us and how it repeats in the future in its own way. I am about halfway done reading this book. I think it is extremely interesting, and I believe everything he says. Totally recommend this book because it totally changes my perspective Of everything
