Excellent Resource
I am a lead carpenter and my job can involve supervising other trades so knowing about other trades is essential, which is one reason I bought this book. I also want to be able to do everything in my own home. This book is filled with highly detailed, technical information about sizing pipe, tools of the trade, joining pipe, and diagrams showing pathways of water lines and DWV pipe. I think even highly experienced plumbers can learn from this book.

This is a really good resource if you are planning a plumbing project from scratch
This book is really good if you're building a house or planning all of your plumbing. For some reason I couldn't find any books on Amazon about that they all seem to be about doing random Plumbing projects. But this actually gets into things I'm embarrassed to say I had no clue about. I've done a lot of Plumbing replace all the plumbing in the two small houses that I've owned. This book is a really good resource for figuring out what size of drain pipe you need or how long the pipes can be. The older houses that I've owned the Plumbing's barely vented at all just through the main stack and I've even had Plumbing inspected and they never complained about the lack of vents. But apparently good practice would have you venting every Plumbing fixture and installing cleanouts at them as well. Super embarrassed to say that I didn't know the difference between a vent 90 and a drain 90. Anyway don't be a goofball like me read this book or read some other book or don't whatever. But I like this book and I found it to be a very helpful resource although it is older but I don't think that matters too much. They added a section in to talk about PEX tubing. I guess it was a new thing back then. Seems like that's all people use nowadays although I'll probably be sticking to Copper Supply and PVC drains but PEX for the hydronic Heat and fire suppression sprinklers

Very informative. But page 115
I like the book, very useful as reference for a few projects I’ve done. However page 115 where upper-story plumbing is discussed, just ends, with no continuation, while mid sentence. No further discussion on upper-story plumbing. Is it possible some pages are missing as a misprint?

All the Plumbing Info One Needs, but Poor Quality Paper
The author gives the self-builder everything he needs to plumb and comply with code. The quality of the paper in the book is about on par with newsprint, which is to say, extremely poor quality and easy to tear. The Kindle copy is probably the better buy.
