J.B. Prince U715 S/S Chef Gray Kunz Sauce Spoon, Stainless Steel

My wife cooks and I bought this as a surprise gift. At first she couldn't believe I paid this amount "for a spoon!" 3 weeks in and now I can't take it out of her hands. She loves it! It's the perfect size for saucing, mixing, ladling, skimming.. small and large pots and pans, very versatile and functional.

This is a bougie spoon for sure and honestly, I didn't think I would wind up keeping up because of the price. However, once you hold this spoon in your hand, feel the weight and quality, it's hard not for it to become your go to saucing spoon. Even though I bought it for myself, it would make a perfect side gift for any friends or family that are into cooking gourmet meals.

I love to cook so I was watching “The Bear”, a must-watch show on Hulu for you culinary wizards and wannabe’s out there! The main character, Carmy, is head chef and carries around this exact sauce spoon in many scenes and episodes. By all means, I had to have one and so glad I got it. There’s a really good reason why every chef needs a good sauce spoon - and this is it! No need to question, it isn’t brain surgery. It’s a well-weighted, glossy stainless spoon with a wide bowl that you’ll love and use every day in your kitchen.

Honestly, even on sale $10 for a spoon is a hard sell but I wanted something more sturdy than my current flimsy big spoon. I was really shocked at how heavy the spoon was. It still has a bit more spring and give than I had hoped. I often times uses it for heavier and frozen items. It doesn't bend out of shaped but I have taken more precaution with it given it's price. It's great for serving or basting. Try to get it on sale because I don't know if I can justify 50% more in cost.

I felt rather ridiculous ordering this, but once I started using it, I really noticed the difference. The bowl of the spoon, at approximately 2 tablespoons, is just the right amount - not skimpy, and not too much. The spoon is also more maneuverable than a standard sized kitchen spoon. The handle angle and size work for me (big hands, lots of fingers and knuckles to keep out of the food). I liked it so much I ordered the companion slotted spoon version. If small children will not go hungry or be deprived of school supplies, when and if you can, treat yourself to this tool.
