Good printer though not trivial to setup
I purchased a Royal POS1500 and needed a high quality kitchen printer to work with it. Royal support was absolutely no help in finding an impact kitchen printer so when I bought this it was one of those "well if it doesn't work with the POS then I'll just have to return it" deals. Well even though figuring out to print to it from the POS1500 was a bit challenging, I finally got it to work. I used the web interface to set a static IP address and then turned dip switch 4 off to put it into ESC/POS Mode.

Works great and easy to install!
We have used this type of receipt printer for years at a park district fitness center and have had no issues with them. Easy to use and easy to change the paper roll.

Great Printer - but check with your POIS provider before purchase
I've used these printers as long as they've been around and they are workhorses. I have purchased them on amazon for use with my Upserve platform in the past. Since my last purchase, they have updated their hardware specs and now program these printers themselves for purchase. All of this is good and enhances security etc. also, they aren't overcharging for the printers. I just didn't know about it so the most recent one I ordered isn't compatible anymore. Again - not the printers fault or the company's fault - but I wanted to let future customers know that they should check with their provider first.

Don’t recommend
I bought this printer thinking that it was a good alternative to buying new, but as much as I thought it was a safe, “greener” choice, it didn’t last. The printer has already started to malfunction, and I’ve only had it for about 2 months.

Good kitchen printer
Easy set up and recongize brand compatible with lots of pos systems.

Works great with Clover products.
We had to get a the newest Clover system when our old POS died randomly (it was ancient) and our old kitchen printer didn't mesh with it. This one works perfectly - pulled it out of the box, plugged it in and no worries since.
