Got it for radar detector
My truck only has USB, no 12v outlet, as most newer vehicles do. So I got this to run a radar detector off the USB port in my dash. I have a 12v Cobra radar detector and this USB cable seems to work fine, so far, powering it up off my truck USB port. I've read most radar detectors draw under 1 amp so this little converter should hold it with no problems. BUT I wouldn't try to power anything bigger like a 12v air compressor, I don't think it would work One bummer is that the USB port in my truck is always on so I have to unplug this before I leave the truck, which is not a huge deal (until it kills my battery one day). Overall it's pretty useful and inexpensive, so it's worth getting. I have a feeling a lot of people need this and don't know about it. Also I ended up using the tip adaptor to fit my radar detector and it fit perfect. I ordered another cable like this and the tips did not fit.

work with milwaukee heated jacked.
worked perfect. if you purchased a milwaukee heated jacket from home depot you need this to be able to run the jacket off of a portable phone charger.

Failed after 6 months
Failed after 6 months - I used this to power.a modem. The modem was pulling 7 Watts - the device is rated for 10 Watts. After a few months the device starting getting hot and intermittently turning off - soon after it failed completely.

works on cobra480i!
I haven't long term tested it yet, but it worked like a charm! The smaller port perfectly fits the power port for the cobra 480i! So of you Wana run radar on the Motorcycle and have a USB port , this works great
