Amazing book. It Is so thorough and exact on everything to do. The pictures are very descriptive. Overall a great book, much bigger than what it looks like in the pictures. You’re really getting your moneys worth on this book great product.

Very informative and easy to read instruction's with photos.

Excellent description and pictures. As a beginner, I just felt they should have started with the chapter on how electricity works and the basics of how it works in a home, then safety and tools and then outlets, switches etc.. I would also have cut out some of the stuff more geared for industrial like fluorescent fixtures and went more into practical issues a homeowner my encounter. Still 4.5 stars

I’ve only used this once (building an apartment). But I got to a point where I didn’t have the foggiest. I pulled out this book and looked at it for a few minutes. With the colored pictures and overall view I understood what I needed to do in less than a minute. Great guide, especially for the DIY

Very impressed with the book, have done electrical work for nearly 40 years. Brushing up my skills for an upcoming project. This is an awesome book and I highly recommend it and that why I gave it FIVE stars. My only complaint was how it was shipped. It was rammed down in the bubble wrap and the top cover and several pages were bent very badly. I attempted to straighten them as much as possible, but this will be an eyesore every time I read it. Due only to the shipping side, I give it one star.

Good overview over DIY electrics - comprehensive information, easy to read, lots of really good pictures and wiring diagrams. Includes lots of information on coax and cat5 as well, as well as good overview of materials and tools needed. My concern is that it focuses more on "this is how you do it" instead of "don't ever do this". For instance, in one guide about messing around inside the distribution panel, the "turn off the main breaker" instruction is just written as a part of step 2, with no special emphasis - it really ought to be in bold, red text with skulls next to it. And I just noticed another code requirements isn't mentioned at all (metal boxes need to be grounded) which makes me question how complete the book really is.

Great book. Slightly outdated, but fundamentals all there. I found the ordering of the chapters odd. If you are new to electrical work, I would suggest reading through the last couple of chapters first. Lots of great pics for reference.

This book may have some interesting electrical information but non of the illustrations I saw were for British electrics. These books should state which country they are designed for. Each country has its own electrical equipment and regulations. I will be returning it.
