Ready, Set, Weld!: Beginner-Friendly Projects for the Home & Garden

PERFECT book for the beginner and someone that just wants to be able to do some basic welding to augment their other artwork like I do. I know less-than nothing about welding, and it’s really intimidating to me. But this book made me feel so much more at ease and confident to be able to make some simple forms to use w my sculptural ceramics. I highly recommend it.

It's a decent book if you are into tack welds...ok for self teaching...I didn't care for the projects but that is just my style...the info was correct and trustworthy. I've been welding for a while and was looking to improve my skills...this really isn't the book for that.

I got this for my mom, who is just beginning to learn how to weld. She's a bit intimidated by the whole process, but her face lit up when I showed her some of the easy craft projects in this book. The instructions are clear and there's lots of photos. Hopefully having some step by step "recipes" will let her gain enough confidence to eventually meet her goal of creating scrap metal yard art!

I got this book for my brother, who is a certified welder. He is usually laid off in the winter, and the purpose of this book was to give him ideas for projects he could do during his time off. Either for christmas presents or to sell. He tells me the book is perfect for that. I would give it 5 stars but havent seen the book myself!

My father in law bought me a welder - - -actually it was because my wife wants to try some welding projects. I'm a bid DIYer however have never worked with metal - but I guess I'm going to trySo. my wife bought the book - - I haven't looked at it yet - but it made her happy.

If you are creative and want to make projects out of metal, this will give you some ideas. There are lots of great photographs of the completed items. If you are new to welding and want to learn, you'll want to add a book like "How to Weld" to your reading list, as this book won't teach you much about the actual welding process, proper machine setup, filler metal selection of the like. Don't use the welds in this book as examples, the photos suggest the author is an artist, not a great welder.

Great book for the novice. It is an easy read and pictures of projects you can actually do and should do at least 5 -8 of them. Makes you look at a scrap piece of metal in a different way. Good that it is geared to welding...not just pictures of things DONE in welding...Good book for beginners. I recommend it.
