Carlson, Chelated Iron, 27 mg, 250 Tablets

10/19/18 - I still have issues with low iron and I'm now up to five tablets a day (under the care of a doctor). I still love this product and it's helped bring my iron levels up but other health issues fight this. I continually recommend this to anyone who mentions taking iron because it's gentle on the body, it raises iron levels, and it's one of the most inexpensive chelated iron products on the market. I'll restate what I said in my original review: I hope they never stop making it! 8/5/13 - I've always had a problem with iron deficiency, I have restless leg syndrome (known to be exacerbated by low iron), and I've had gastric by-pass. One of my biggest problems is how my body reacts to ferrous fumerate and ferrous sulfate, the standard iron supplements on the market. I did a lot of research several years ago and learned about chelated iron. It's supposed to absorb better than standard supplements. I bought this brand back then on a different website. I figured I would try it and see how my annual blood tests turn out. Because my body reacts in a not-so-friendly way to iron, I was excited to give this a try. I really liked it and my iron levels went up and I didn't have any adverse reaction. I tried another brand once because it was a little cheaper. It didn't work at all. I may as well have taken standard OTC iron based on the way my body reacted to it. I'm so happy with this brand of chelated iron! I'll never buy another brand and I recommend it to anyone who mentions they take iron or have trouble taking iron because of how their body reacts. I hope they never stop making it!

This was a good choice for me for getting my needed iron. They have a pleasant taste and it doesn’t constipate me. My only gripe is that they dissolve more slowly than other brands, but not too slowly!

My iron levels were critically low at a 7. I started taking Floridex and my levels went up to 12 in a month. My cardiologist recommended Carlson chelated iron b/c it’s easy on the stomach. I took 3-4 pills a day consistently for a month and stopped the Floridex. My iron level went up to 44 which is in the normal range. I highly recommend!

I've tried a few brands and this is one of my favorite. Chelated iron is known to be used more effectively by the body so I stick with that. These cause no stomach upset and the price is right.
