I had never used wax before, so after reading about it I was skeptical. Something I learned quickly - my hair needs to be almost dry before applying, but not totally dry. Too wet, it won't apply consistently throughout. Too dry, it applies in clumps. This has nothing to do with the product and has more to do with wax versus other products like gels. This is great because it stays in my hair all day and regardless of weather, I can remold my hair midday which is awesome. In fact, my hair looks best at the end of the day once I have really gotten it all throughout my hair over the course of the day. It also washes out relatively easily. Some basic shampoo is able to mostly remove it completely.

I've found this wax to be way too stiff and hard, even on my thick, coarse salt-and-pepper short hair. No matter how much I rub a dollop between my palms, I can't get the product to liquify properly. I'm no stranger to heavy-duty hair wax (like Control Maniac), but this stuff carries the concept a bit too far for me.

This has been my main product for a few years now. Sorta found it randomly on Amazon and it has been an absolute gem. It lasts for a very long time.I can wear hats without having to worry about residue on the hats.Takes very little to control my hair.It's got a pleasing aroma! (Even if you are a dapper Dan man)

Everyone has their personal style/preference so always difficult to judge. For me, I was looking to add texture and go for a bit more natural look. For my hair, which is overly dry, I need a but of dampness to apply product. The slightest amount of water in my hair as I ran this stuff through my hair resulted in a very shiny look and super crunchy/crusty feel. Echoing other reviews, this stuff's a bit difficult to wash out which is to be expected given it is a wax.

Can't believe this wax was recommended in GQ. It's way too thick and even after washing hands it leaves sticky residue and smell on your hands. Highly do NOT recommend. I instantly regretted it after using it for the first time.

This stuff is like rubber cement and molasses. I have fine hair and this stuff was way too heavy and way too sticky. on top of that it is more shiny than advertised and has a fragrance despite not stating that anywhere. It took me 5 shampoo and conditioner cycles to finally get out of my hair, and my hair is pretty short. The hold isn't good because it's too heavy and will just weigh your hair down. This product really excels at making your hair unbearably sticky and nothing else.

This hair wax works well but it is VERY thick. Sometimes if your hair is a little wet or you have moisture on your hand and then apply the wax, it will mess up your hair and be nearly impossible to style.

One star for a great hold and one for a nice smell. However, you need mineral spirits or paint thinner to get this off your hands or out of your hair. Takes at least three shampoo with conditioner treatments for this stuff to completely be gone. For that reason I cannot recommend this product.
