Clean Taste, Beautiful Design, and Worth the Slower Initial Filtering
I bought this LifeStraw Home water filter pitcher for my apartment during grad school since the water quality in my area isn’t the best, and I’ve been really happy with it overall. One of the main reasons I chose this was the glass pitcher. I like that it reduces the amount of plastic in contact with my water, and it just feels cleaner and more premium compared to typical plastic pitchers. The silicone base is also a nice touch since it helps prevent slipping and protects surfaces. The water tastes really good, noticeably cleaner and fresher compared to straight tap water. It’s reassuring knowing that it’s designed to filter out a wide range of contaminants, which was a big priority for me. One thing to keep in mind is that the filtering process is a bit slow at first. The first few uses take longer to fill up, just like the instructions mention, but it does get better over time. It’s not a dealbreaker, just something to be aware of if you’re expecting instant results. It’s also easy to use day-to-day, and the size is perfect for keeping in the fridge without taking up too much space. Overall, I think it’s a great upgrade from more common and popular water filter pitchers. It looks better, feels higher quality, and does a great job improving water taste and quality.

Works well!
I have had this a few weeks now and I’m very happy with it. The water taste good and it is a sturdy glass material material with a silicone cover at the bottom to help protect it. I will say I was initially worried when I first got it because it was taking FOREVER to filter. Now it’s a little faster, but I do expect it to be somewhat slower because it seems to be a good filter. I’m always having to fill it because it’s not a huge capacity, but I don’t mind because of the quality of the water it is just me though so for more than one person sharing it due to the capacity and a slow filtering. It might be hard for multiple people to use it.

Excellent tasting water! Filtration speeds up with use!
After looking at other reviews almost didn't buy...but glad I did!! The filtering process is slow at first but speeds up after the first few uses. And the water is so pure and satisfying. Love the glass vs. plastic. Best of all with this purchase, a third world family has access to clean water for an entire year!

Better than anything!
I love this pitcher. It's makes water taste fantastic. There is no off taste and no funny smell. It does take time for it to filter but I just add it to a pitcher and start another batch. It's very sturdy and no leaks. It turned out to be will worth the price. Better than anything I've used.

Works OK, but too tall to fit in fridge, and the clean water still sits in contact with plastic
Well... I bought this pitcher because our city recently upped the amount of "disinfectant" it's putting into the tap water and even filtered through our PUR faucet mount filters, it was horrible to drink - like burning the back of my mouth horrible. (I'm super sensitive to this sort of thing - for reference I can't stand bottled water because it tastes like plastic to me, so take these comments with a grain of salt.) I did some research and discovered that our city uses chloramine instead of just chlorine - it's a combination of chlorine and ammonia and it's much more difficult to filter out. Apparently it needs much more time in contact with the carbon to get the stuff out, and since you can't run water through a faucet mount filter more than once, I got this pitcher to try to to make the filtered tap water palatable. So the way we're using this is that I take water filtered through the PUR filter and run it through this pitcher. If I run it through once, I can still taste the disinfectant a bit, but if I run it through twice it tastes clean. That may say more about chloramine and my sensitivity to it than it does about this pitcher though. The comments about the slowness of this thing are true. It has gotten a bit better now that I've run about a dozen cycles through it, but it still takes 15-20 minutes to filter one batch - one batch is NOT a full pitcher, it's more like 16 ounces. I mean, I guess the micro-filter makes it slow, so I'm willing to put up with that, but it's making it really difficult to filter enough water to cook. Plus, we have a cat with kidney disease, and he wasn't liking the horrible tasting water either, so we have to filter water to keep his water dishes full. I haven't managed to get the thing very full before we needed to use the water, and I actually don't plan to because here's the deal - while the pitcher itself is glass, the filter housing thing in the middle is plastic - so if you fill it with more than 16-20 ounces of water, your water is still going to be sitting in contact with plastic! I mean it's great that the filter removes micro-plastics, but I'm not sure what good it does if the water is just going to sit in contact with more plastic! I guess I foolishly assumed that the filter was housed in glass - wrong! This seems like a major design flaw for something that's marketed as a way to remove micro-plastics. And the final problem is that the thing is 11.5 inches tall, and the tallest our refrigerator shelves can accommodate is 11 inches. It won't fit in the door either - it's 6 inches in diameter at the bottom which is about half an inch too big to fit in the door. We might be able to re-arrange the shelves, but I'm not sure it's worth it as I think we'll probably be investigating other types of filtration/purification systems. Sooo... it works, I guess. At least I've found a way to make palatable water for the time being, but the many hassles involved with using this thing mean that it's unlikely to be a permanent solution. Or maybe the city will turn down the level of disinfectant soon and it will all be a moot point!

Good product that works as advertised
It works. My tap water went from an unpleasant bitter taste to the taste of...well nothing, which is how pure water should taste. I like how the pitcher is made of glass, too. It doesn't hold a lot of water so you'll be refilling it often, but it's a nice alternative to installing a whole purifier system under the sink.

Very nice glass pitcher and filter
I was looking for a water filter/pitcher with less plastic and so far really like this one. I had read complaints about how long it takes to filter. I don’t find it takes much longer than other filters. The instructions tell you it will get faster after the first couple of cycles and I found that to be true. Others also complained about the weight. It is a bit bottom heavy when full but I just use two hands to hold it and it’s fine. It looks really nice and I love the way the top flips up on its own when you have it under running water to refill. I bought this as a “used-very good” condition and am very happy with it.

This product is utterly fantastic! We've used a number of different counter-top filters over the years. Our city water is technically safe for drinking, but tastes like swamp water. A couple years ago we switched to bottled water from Costco after the counter-top filter that we used to use simply couldn't provide the quality of water we wanted. Reading about plastic micro-particles prompted me to once again start considering the counter-top filter options. Wow, am I ever glad I found the LifeStraw Home water filter/pitcher. It produces water that has no swamp taste at all -- it tastes like great water should taste! The filter runs a little slow (particularly at first), so we ended up buying a second one. I'm absolutely amazed at how good it is and I'd recommend it to anybody interested in improving their water drinking experience.

Very pleased with this double filter system that removes microplastics in addition to harmful chemicals and microbes. Nice tasting water too! A good option for those who don’t want or don’t have space for an under sink RO filter system.
