Handheld focus at 8' is okay. Distance needs strong light and tripod. Follow all directions.
WHOOHoo! Whata lens! It fits my Canon EOS T6 Rebel DSLR with a t-mount, included. Also included is the case, leather, with drawstring at top and front and back lens covers. More than I expected. Also cleaning cloth, good. Note the lens was early, the 2nd day, nice. Added the lens to my camera, took 'first light' picture, handheld, at 8' and it does as good as a job at that distance (minimum focus) as my 75-300mm lens does at 6' (minimum focus). Colors were washed out, probably from magnification. Got to use photoshop to increase that. Apparently as expected. Tripod and strong light (bright daylight) a necessity, especially at distance. Longer distances, 400yds, gave me pictures I've never seen before, well magnified. As indicated, the focusing distance was sliver thin, but I think, acceptable. Note the distances indicated on the ring around the lens were only for approximate distances. Must be careful screwing onto the t-mount, I've read one reviewer who stripped theirs right away. I leave the T-mount on the lens to avoid damaging the screw threads. Even with it's lighter weight, it's more awkward to screw on, due to it's smaller size and less of a balancing ability. Make sure to screw in the t-mount, THEN attach to the camera. The mirror I can see is bright and clear and the outer lens is clean. Make sure to keep the outer cover on when not in use. The lens is about 4" long and about another 1/2" for the lens screw, and about 3 3/4" wide. The lens 'protrusion' in back and reflecting mirror in front are about 1.7" in diameter. I haven't seen the 'donuts' (bokahs?), yet when not in focus. F-stop set at f/6.3, no changing that. Mine came black and white. Going to keep the box it came in to store, as well as the case. A good buy.
