Reliable hitch for suv
Has been a very reliable hitch for my kia sportage. Easy install as well!

Under 15 minutes, no experience needed. Fits perfectly.
I purchased a 2011 Kia Sportage 2 weeks ago and needed to be able to pull a boat. I ordered this on Sunday, it arrived on Thursday, and i installed on Friday. It took me roughly 15 minutes to install by myself. I have no mechanical experience at all, and I had no problems doing this by myself. A second set of hands would always be useful, but i used a standard car jack to hold this in place while i screwed in the bolts. I started on the passenger side first, got one bolt started, then went to the drivers side and started a bolt. Returned to passenger side and tightened both bolts completely, then did the same for the drivers side. NICE AND SIMPLE. There is more than plenty of room under the vehicle to do this project.

Easy Install
I put this hitch on a 2012 Kia Sportage EX AWD vehicle. I was very impressed with the quality of the powder coated finish- it really looked high quality. As far as the installation, I did it alone, and it's a little awkward until you get the first bolt in one side, but it really is pretty freakin easy. It took me around 15mins. One thing that was handy was I used a Digital Torque Wrench Adapter I bought from Harbor Freight (<$30) to torque the bolts down to the perfect tightness. You put it on a regular old socket wrench and it converts it to a torque wrench. The instructions tell you how tight to torque the bolts so it was kinda nice knowing I got it on perfectly. It really was quite simple to put on- the bottom of the Kia is pretty easily accessible. As far as appearance, the only thing visible is the 2 in receiver box- the rest of the hitch is completely concealed! No ugly hitch dangling below the back end, which is the way MANY other aftermarket hitches appear. If you want a hitch on your 2012 Kia Sportage, this is definately the one to get. I think the price is a steal too.

easy to get hitched with a few scrapes
First, on receipt a little concerned as a large hole had been punched in side of box by hitch post. Further concerned as box was filled with literally no padding, only attempt at protection was two pieces of paper wrapped around each arm. Which were torn, revealing multiple spots of paint scrapes larger than dollar coin pieces. Uglied up some but no real damage to metal structure it would seem. Still, extremely unacceptable/no protection for shipping. Easy fit on my 2011 sportage Ex. No need to lift the car unless you are a large person and really really need a lot of clearance. Installed with only the assistance of a small stool to hold opposite side up while I seated bolts for the first side. Took about 20 minutes including loosening and shifting to try and figure out if it was the hitch or my frame holes that were slightly misaligned. Still don't know but my hitch is ever so slightly askew, just enough to notice for this symmetry obsessed jerk. Once installed the hitch post is barely past the bottom edge of the bumper so for towing a longer ball mount might be warranted. Very much out of the way when installed, seems quite solid despite abusive packing and delivery. Far far cheaper than paying dealer $500ish for equivalent.

Good quality product
This was difficult to install. It was not 15-30 minutes as I had expected. I would expect this to take minimal time (15 minutes or so) on a newer vehicle. Unfortunately, I was installing this hitch on a vehicle that was 9 years old. That said, the holes in which the bolts thread were...’dirty’. I assumed that the bolts provided were too big as I could not get them to even start to thread. After some online research, I realized I had some significant cleaning to do. PB Blaster, a good wire brush, and some time and the holes were cleaned well enough to start threading the bolts. Once thoroughly cleaned, the install was easy as originally expected.

Good fit. Simple install.
Just using this for bike racks so no wiring. I've installed many hitch racks and this fits the Tucson very easily. A little awkward to slip past the muffler end. But supporting opposite end on a jack made that easier. Then jack into position and screw in 4 bolts. Done. No drilling and no having to unhook mufflers. Seems well made. Curt hitch on my Suzuki has been fine for 10+ years.

Quality and fit were way off
Couldn't figure out why it wouldn't go into place. After giving up and going to return it, my daughter told me something looked bent. And it was!!! The passenger side bracket was bent from the hitch bar to a total about a 1/2 inch at the front end. Two by and a sledge hanger got it where it should be, works great now! One shouldn't have to struggle that much for a 'drop in' part...

so easy a caveman ......
ordered this yesterday and because it was in Harrisburg Warehouse it actually came to me the next morning despite regular shipping. Installed on 2012 Tuscon even though Amazon's fit check said it wouldn't (their software must not be updated as I checked with curt and they assured me model 13066 was also for the 2012). To anyone considering, this install is so easy and fit perfectly. No lowering of muffler, no trimming of plastic skirt panels. I have installed more than a half dozen various hitches over the years and this was the easiest.Simple 4 bolt installation into existing weld nuts on frame. Didn't even bother getting my car ramps out, it would have taken longer to position them and get the suv up on them than to install the whole thing. You have plenty of access without them. Clean and simple install, 10-15 minutes easy.
