Works great on aftermarket shells
I don't know what some of these reviews are going on about, but with aftermarket shells at least these hinges work great. GBA SP hinges are incredibly tricky to begin with to install. They have to be installed a certain way or the rotation of the hinge won't be lined up correctly and you get the screen flopping open. These feel tight and I get a satisfying snapping shut of the screen and a nice loud click when the screen hits the "sweet spot" in the open position. The hinges must be installed with the lid closed first and only halfway. You should be able to still move the top lid out of the way and you don't want the hinge engaged with this section yet. To make sure the rotation is oriented correctly you must then open the screen up to the "sweet spot" and push the hinge the rest of the way in. The second one goes on much easier as everything is properly aligned. If you have to force the hinge in, pop it out and try again as then notches are not ligned up right.

They do the job. No more no less.
Easy to install and work as they should, although they don't click open as much as the original ones. They were essential when rebuilding my gameboy and I am still happy with the result.

Decent hinges for aftermarket shell
Good overall new set of hinges for my aftermarket shell. Snaps open positively but doesn't snap closed. It doesn't open up alot when closed but will flop open a little if held upside down. The ones that arrived for me are what was shown in the pictures without the rivet and didn't take much force to install.Update: after a couple of days of opening and closing the gameboy, the hinges must have wore in and are now consistently snapping closed like they should.
