Great feed, worth the price
The price is absolutely 💯 worth it. My hens are thriving on this feed.ive started them on this from the beginning with the grower feed and now layer.i have switched to store bought regular feed and quickly switched back to scratch and peck . The difference is amazing with the egg laying, taste of eggs are incredible. Please buy, you won't be disappointed.

Girls Laid Eggs All Winter
Girls laid all winter! We haven’t hit Spring yet and they’re back up to laying an egg per day each again! We’ve used this brand since they hatched and have had beautiful healthy birds with abundant organic egg production. We’re in the country and I’ve talked to lots of people at the feed stores who have said their chickens have had all kinds of ups and downs with laying issues across a variety of ages using the different feeds on the market. We’ve never had any such trouble thank God and I know it’s because this feed is consistently clean organic nutrition. I feed free choice plus ferment in small batches to keep it clean and fresh and it always smells pleasant and fresh. I’ve researched the other brands on the market and they just don’t compete quality or price wise. The price is fair even compared with making your own feed.

The best chicken feed you can buy for your flock, but definitely not the cheapest
This chicken feed is very high quality, and my 15 chickens love it the best out of any other feed I have given them. This feed has a lot of healthy, organic ingredients and not a lot of fillers, unlike most other feeds that tend to pack in a lot of fillers into each bag. The chickens also laid the most eggs ever, eating this feed. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5, because it is quite expensive per pound. So if you're going to purchase it, you need to weigh whether you're willing to pay more for the feed to get more eggs. Good luck with your flock!

Great Chicken Feed! Even Better Fermented!!!
Our chickens love this feed! For anyone else interested in fermenting this feed to make it even more nutritious for your ladies and increase the quality of their eggs, it is extremely simple. Just add equal parts feed and water to a glass jar and shake it up a couple times throughout the day to keep it mixed. For the lid I use the white plastic Ball lids but you can use any standard lid, just let it vent a little here and there to keep it from getting too carbonated. After ~48 - 72 hrs it will be ready and look similar to what I have shown in the photo for this review. BONUS Tip! If you make your own milk Kefir at home, add ~1/4c of Kefir for every 4 cups of feed + 4 cups of water. This will help speed up the fermentation process, increase the probiotics and bioavailability of nutrients, and also prevent mold from growing on your fermented feed! I had issues with mold growing on top of the feed if I forgot to shake/stir it once per day, but our home made goat kefir completely eliminated the problem! Now we can leave our fermented feed on the counter for weeks and weeks without any issues of mold growing. Making goat or cow Kefir at home is also a very easy process. You can purchase high quality grains on Etsy and make sure to use a small amount of grains m (~0.5 - 1 tsp per 2-4 cups of milk) and unpasteurized milk which you can get from a local farmers market.

My hens are laying 2x the eggs on this feed!
I can't say enough good stuff about this company, the people that work there or their product! Due to a shipping mistake (not theirs!) my package was returned. When I inquired where my package was I received an email back the same day letting me know what had happened. I also found out that they'd sent me an email notifying me immediately after the pkg was returned but it went to my spam and I missed it (again, not their fault). Upon my contacting the company they asked for an address confirmation and offered to send the feed out the next day. Being that they were responding to my second email late in the day, that's as quick as you can get! I offered to pay for the reshipping fee and they quickly refused, insisting they'd just send it off and hoped I'd be happy w/ my new feed. Now that you know they are helpful, kind and go the extra mile for their customers, let's talk about the product. This chicken feed is incredible. You can clearly identify REAL and healthy food in the feed. My birds have started running up to me when I walk outside since I scattered some on the ground for pecking the first day it arrived. It's lasting much, much longer than the pellets we've used in the past, saving me money and saving my back from ducking into the run to refill the food dish multiple times a week. Even better, my birds are laying 2x as many eggs, if not more. It's simply incredible!!! Imagine my shock when I opened the coop to find a PILE of eggs instead of a couple. I'm so happy with this feed, I love knowing my kids are reaping the benefits of healthier eggs and I'm thrilled to be offering a better life for my birds. Please consider ordering this feed, you'll never regret it!

Something isn’t adding up
Something is going on with this feed. I venture to say likely not the claimed protein content, as the ladies have been behaving uncharacteristically regarding their feeding and laying behaviors. As if they are lacking protein. I’m disappointed, have been using it for years, but noticed a change in the last few bags. May have been going on longer, but the last thing I thought of was the feed because I like to buy quality, and I’ve been loyal to this brand as it’s been solid for years. I guess the economy has even hit the feed. Now I’m making my own mix so I can guarantee the protein content. As I said - started making my own, now the ladies are back to normal and their laying is back on track as well. Savings not substantial making my own mix. I’d say this is more of a convenience to be able to buy it pre-mixed in a bag. But - if you’re spending on avg $80/mo on feed, you better have some darn good egg production. Welp- not with this product any longer. The average cost making it on your own is about $.93 a pound. But the egg production is definitely better and returned. Let’s face it- we’re in it for the eggs as well as loving our ladies.
