Private: Gold (Bookshots)

At 85 years old I have had my share of reading mystery/detective books and Patterson never fails to satisfy my reading pleasure. Alex Cross is a favorite with The Women's Mystery Club a close contender. This was one story that I read in one sitting as every moment there was action and adventure. Thank you for years of entertainment. As I was set to donate all my literature, my youngest great grand-daughter, having started out with your teen books, intercepted me. She went home with them with the promise that she would see they got to vet's hospital as soon as she finished reading them. She's 10 and an advise fan.

It was a good read, not a great read. As it was suspenseful the ending seem to end quite rapidly.

A short read for sure, if nothing else to do, read a book, Patterson.

This was a very nice short story. I didn’t know what a bookshot was. It’s a short story. I don’t think it was worth what I paid for it

This is a quick bookshot installment in the Private series by Patterson. I appreciated the female lead being worried and scared but not portrayed as weak and incapable. The storyline made sense based on the setting in South Africa. It wasn't too farfetched and felt like the obstacles that were overcome were feasible. All in all a good read

I truly have enjoyed all the Private novels by James Patterson. I love books on CD, as I work from home, so after work, I got to the lake, and listen to my books as I watch the beauty around me. I suggest all his books to anyone. The man can write, and takes you right in to the action!

I’ve read many from this series. They are all based on the same formula . Private firm X in Country/State/City gets job that develops into more than security. The agent soon develops the hots for a woman, usually the victim. The bad guys get caught and the agent bonks the woman. Some stories are actually good, most are not. This one was terrible. Seems to have been written but several 3 year olds. End of story.

Product in great shape and an amazing read

Fast paced with a twist in the tale. Patterson writing at his best. People trafficking, illegal gold mining, takes your breath away.

The term is BOOKSHOTS associated with the book stands upto its mark . No wonder James Patterson is such a wonderful writer. The book is for a quick read , one which will pull you closer to it till you end it . It is factful fiction , one which covers major misdeeds of our society like human trafficking , illegal mining , crime in South Africa , and political intervention . It stands as a must read book .It will hardly take an hour or two and in those two hours you would live in crimes of South Africa.

Sometimes a bit long winded with unwanted explanations but otherwise a good read.
