Works well if you don't mind a setup struggle and lowered expectations.
I ordered this to use a curtain to cover an area with wire shelving. I used this to hang the curtain from the ceiling.it worked, but not without a bit of a struggle. The spindles didn't all screw into the mounting piece well. I solved this by adding some hot glue to give it some grab. Also, the wire is REALLY hard to cut unless you have the right tool (diagonal wire cutters), and wrap the spot you cut with tape so you don't get stabbed with a rogue piece of wire (went right into my thumb). It also doesn't sit perfectly straight once it's mounted with something hanging from it. It droops a bit (even with something lightweight hanging from it...I use a flat sheet). BUT! Despite all of this. It does what I needed it to do! It works, and the price was right.

Works for me with no major installation issues
If you are handy and have the right tools, you should have no problem installing this item. I wouldn't recommend it for hanging anything weighing more than a couple of pounds unless you make sure to anchor the ends to a wall stud. I had to use drywall anchor bolts because of the location I needed to install this. I am using the item to hang a 7 ft curtain and after a couple of weeks there is no sagging or signs of stress to the drywall. I took my time and had no major issues. A stud finder will make the installation a lot easier. Be sure to use wire cutters to cut the included cable. If not it will fray and you'll have issues threading it through the connectors at each end and the corner piece. Be careful not to over tighten the cable. I would also recommend buying an extra corner piece to use as support if you are using the entire length of cable to prevent sagging. It's definitely utilitarian so don't expect it to be particularly aesthetic. It did the job for me but because of the minimal instructions with no details, I can see how some may have issues with installation.

I highly recommend watching video instructions for the Ikea Dignitet curtain system
I highly recommend watching video instructions for the Ikea Dignitet curtain system, which is functionally the same as this one. Be very careful about installing the curtains on the correct side (right or left) otherwise you will be unable to easily access the screws that hold the wire in place. Also be careful to install the base at the right orientation (with the post facing the correct direction) otherwise you won't be able to fully screw in the post if you want the wire to hang straight. If you are at least slightly handy and are very careful about installation you should be fine, but the product is fairly fiddly and annoying to work with.

Wire wont stay up
I really wanted this to work but it wont stay up. The wire keeps coming out of the end and my drapes end up on the floor. It may work if you are using it for a shorter setup. Mine was about 15ft across.

Followed the directions carefully and was able to put this up without a hitch. Seems sturdy, but I'm afraid to tighten the wire too much and begin pulling the screws out of the wall. I found studs to tie into for both ends and the center post. Still have a big of sag between the center and the ends, but not too bad. Very glad I got the center post or there certainly would have been a more noticeable sag. We bought a number of plastic "L" shaped picture frames (5X7, 7X5, 4X6, 6X4, 8X10, and 10X8) and are hanging these up-side-down from the wire. We can change pictures easily and have a nice variety of pictures in our hallway now.

Need a professional to set this up.
Doesn’t fit properly. Length of the string is of good length.

S.S. Curtain Cable Kit
The appearance of the hardware is good and works pretty much as advertised. One suggestion - if you are needing to cut the cable to the length you need, wrap some masking tape where you cut to keep all of those fine strands from unraveling. They're such a pain to get straight again.

Doesn't come with screws!
It doesn't come with the screws, was very complicated to assemble. Ended up using more money to assemble. Meh.
