Spectrum: A Communicative Course in English, Level 1, Student Book

I love the super-fast turn around time after purchase. I have been studying this book for one of the English classes that I offer at church.

I love this esl course, I was hoping they would update it so I would be able to continue using it.

I've used Spectrum Level 1 for more than ten years teaching English to Japanese living in Japan. I go through the book slowly, adding examples. Consistently, if students come every week (1/wk for 2 hours) to my class, in two years or less, they can communicate in English comfortably with strangers, whereas when they started, they didn't know the answer to "how are you?"

This is the book, where I learned English, here in Brazil. Five stars for it. I used all the six Spectrum book learning English in IBEU, a course teaching English more than twenty years ago. I also saw this new ediction and it remains an excellent didactic English book.

Two decades ago I learned English using an earlier version of this outstanding course. It continues to be as good as before. The dialogues have a natural pace, the functional grammar is excellent. Just make sure you also get the CDs because it is critical that you listen to each dialogue in the textbooks many times.

I was expecting the communicative (audio-visual) method. Not only the book.
