Can this model replace a esp-6tm?

I believe so.  If I'm reading the info on the ESP-6TM, it appears to have six zones.  If so, this is a simple install...six zone wires plus the "control" wire.  Just be sure you know which wire controls which zone as you are disconnecting off the old controller.  In my case, all six wires and the control wire were all white.  Some are color coded to make it easier.  With mine all being white, I had to put a piece of tape on each wire, as I disconnected from the old controller, then write the zone number on the tape.  My system has no "master valve" or "pump start relay"; if your system does have these, the SST manual does explain how to wire up for those as well. This was very easy to install and is working extremely well!  I'm a 62-year-old woman...if I can do it, anyone can! Good luck!

can this unit be set to water every other day ?

Absolutely! Each zone can be set individually on a day by day basis or for “even odd” days which I take to be every other day.  The unit is a breeze to program.  It is by far the easiest and most flexible controller I have ever worked with.

My outlet is 50 feet from the install point can a longer 12volt cable be purchased

If you are referring to the power outlet, which is actually 120volt, yes, you can purchase a cord long enough for the 50’ run to power the timer. Use a good quality 14ga cord rated for outdoor and or burial use.

Question 4

Can this controller be programmed for interval watering? Meaning you can only water every third day on a watering schedule set by your city.
