A Great Book to Share With Others
An excellent collection of various ways to view the world and get a sense of comfort from daily living. Liked it so much I bought four other copies to gift to friends.

A book that doubles as a hug
As a person with anxiety who can use comfort, this book is a gift. I have read it twice already. Love Matt Haig.

This book feels like someone sitting next to you instead of standing in front of you giving a lecture. And that matters to me. I often struggle with books that sound distant, overly philosophical, or abstract, but this one never does. It’s reflective without being cold. Thoughtful without being intimidating. The structure is simple. Short entries, fragments, quotes, small observations. But that’s exactly why it works. It feels like real thinking. Like the kind of thoughts you have at 2 a.m. when you’re trying to make sense of yourself and the world. It doesn’t force a narrative arc or pretend life is linear. It accepts that it’s messy. What I love most is how Haig talks about feeling different, anxious, overwhelmed, without turning those experiences into something dramatic or extraordinary. He normalizes them. He gently reminds you that you are not the exception. That struggling does not make you broken or weird. That you are human. He includes thoughts and quotes from famous writers and thinkers, but they never feel unreachable or theoretical. He brings them down from a pedestal. He makes them feel like people, not monuments. Their words don’t feel like academic references. They feel like shared human experiences. Reading this book made me feel seen in a very quiet way. It didn’t try to fix me. It didn’t tell me to just think positive. It simply reminded me that things can get better. That life is still beautiful, even when it’s heavy. That being sensitive or questioning or unsure does not mean something is wrong with you. This is not a loud book. It is a gentle one. And for me, that gentleness made all the difference.

Get this one! You're welcome. Some books are like hugs, they fill your heart with warmth, pat your shoulder exactly when you need it, and tell you it's okay. This is the newest addition to by bedside table, and morning ritual. Open any page first thing in the morning... It's like meeting a friend with pancakes for breakfast. Matt Haig writes many genres, witty, satirical, and heartwarming fiction, children's literature, about the environment, about mental health, about acceptance... And this book is probably everything how I'd describe him as an author. For those who follow him on social media, many of the chapters might be familiar. And I daresay you'd see this book quoted frequently in the future. "I hope this email finds you well" is already my favourite! ❤️ Highly Highly Recommended

Love this book. I keep it in the bathroom, and open the book randomly just after waking up or during a quiet moment. Sometimes upon opening it offers that one message that I needed to hear at that time. Other times it’s just a nice story. It was a good buy for me.
