Could have gotten off brands for less, but was concerned with some of the reviews of not cutting well, not straight, etc with off-brands. This combo has worked great. It was my first time putting "pass thru" connectors on. Did a few tests before having to do it for real. It can be a little tricky to get all the wires lined up, but after some practice is not too bad. Makes sure you not only untwist the wires, but straighten them ( I run them thru my fingers several times). Nice having the tester to make sure cables are setup correctly. I made mistakes with my first couple of tests, so really like being able to test in the field so I can make sure I've got each cable correct. Both the cutter and the tester work great. Didn't notice that it also came with a package of 50 high quality cables ends, so that was a nice surprise.

Sometimes new tools come along that you have been using the old way for years that make you say, “why didn’t I think of that?”. This is such a product. It’s simple to use and it gets the job done with ease. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned pro, this product will make your job go with ease. The cable tester is simple but very effective. It is so simple that I say, why didn’t I think of that? Klein tools are for the worker that seeks a cost effective and reliable product to get the job done. I did not get paid to say this but I would accept an endorsement fee from Klein if offered, lol.

I initially purchased another cheaper kit to run cat6 cable in my house. It worked fine initially but in the end really regretted being cheap as it cost me more in time. So after ordering this Klein Tools kit, I was able to quickly finish installing my wireless access point upstairs. The test tool verified issues caused by the cheap kit's crimp tool. I was able to install the provided Klein pass through connector and crimp it with the Klein crimp tool. The Klein tester verified the fix and my wireless access point was working properly delivering 1,000 Mbps through my cat6 cable to my access point. Don't waste your time with those cheap $25 kits. Well worth the extra $75 for this quality Klein Tools kit as it will pay for itself in time saved.

Before I purchased this product, I tried cheaper crimpers with no luck, causing a lot of frustration and wasted time. After MULTIPLE attempts to make a 60-foot CAT 6 Cable, I gave up, returned the inferior crimper, and bought this tool. I successfully made a CAT 6 cable on the very 1st attempt due to the high quality and precision of this tool. Additionally, the tester is easy to use and is a necessity when making 1Gbps cables. It's a bit expensive, but worth the price, IMHO.

Bought this to make our lives easier cause our issued equipment on our base were falling apart. The cable tester is a huge quality of life improvement. Display lets you know whether or not connector is shielded, informs if the wires were crossed over or overall failing to connect. The remote end connector is stored within the unit itself and does not need to be referenced for connection assurance as it’s also read out on the primary unit’s display. The male end crimper works just as good as any, but has the added bonus of not a guiding hinge in the middle of the handle. A bit bulky, yet it’s in our go to maintenance bag along with the tester.

Works fine. Nothing close to my Fluke with can remotely connect to multiple ethernet locations. Basic, but it works.

Great tool for cable termination. Easy to use and gets the job done. Tester is great too! Feels strong build.

The crimper is good. Strips outer sheath precisely without damaging inner wires. Crimping process is easy and worked every time. Cable tester is really easy to use and read. I don't like the RJ45 plugs all that much.Using CAT6 cable I found it was impossible to thread all 8 wires into the plug at the same time,as the instructions suggest.I found it necessary to strip about 100mm of outer sheath and thread each wire in one by one,and even then the wires can crossover inside the plug as the plug is pushed down. I found it was very important to keep an eye on the individual wires as the plug is being pushed down ensuring no crossover. Attaching the RJ45 plugs are not a simple mistake free process ,technique is important.Took me about 3 goes before getting it to go somewhat smoothly.Also,the clip part of the plug is not very big,and seems to get damaged easily while crimping.
