High Luster, 1/2" Reflective Tempered Fire Glass in Diamond Starlight, 10 Pound Jar, by Celestial Fire Glass

Got the black color. It is very dark and the reflection from the mirrored finish makes it sparkle with the light in the home and especially from the fire. I prefer the look of the larger 1/2 inch pieces. From research I did and from talking to few of the manufacturers, I just kept my original burner with the existing pilot starter. I was careful to not have the glass cover or be very close to the pilot as I didn't want to smother it. Took a few minutes to build it up just right around the pilot. Lights up with the switch on the wall. We also used high heat black paint to paint the fake brick that was originally light brown on the sides of the fireplace. Happy with the result.

Love the Celestial Fire Glass...They package it well. I did contact their customer service and they were very helpful. Their website stated I needed 80lb of glass and the manufacturer of the pit said only 40 lbs. we started with 40 and the Celestial Fireglass website was more accurate. 40lbs didn't look full enough. I like that they send the glass in the plastic containers. We rinsed it off in an oblong disposable tin pan to get the dust off and it really sparkles. We mixed colors to mimic another company's premix that was on back order. Glad we went with this company. Make sure to wear gloves and don't rinse it in anything you expect to use later. I got a few shards of glass in my hand and it is no joke that it is super easy to do without gloves. My favorite color is the dark matter and the cosmic copper. If you want a more modern look I would choose the dark matter, intersteller gray and one of the white/silvers. I didn't like the gold as well but in small doses it is ok.

This is a great quality product and is indeed everything that the seller claims. Be careful of not ordering more than you need… The product seems to go further than you expect. I ordered 210 pound containers convinced that I would need more than the first 10 pounds… I was wrong. This product spreads out nicely, and you wind up using less than you expected. If you were even remotely confused between whether you should order some extra or not, go with the "not". You are more than likely not need it, and if you do, they ship product out very quickly so even if you didn't need more, you would not have to wait very long

Updated: Kris from Celestial reached out to me after my original review and sent a cleaner batch of fire glass free of charge. They included a note recommending only washing with water and vinegar if necessary. Original: The product looks like someone took a sheet of tempered mirrored glass backed with gloss black and shattered it. The remaining sides are transparent with a dark tint. The glass is extremely dirty and instructions say you must wash the product for best results. Using a strainer from the kitchen I washed batches of the glass with hot water and dish washing soap. The glass looked great for a few moments, then it dried and the dullness returned. To test if it was really dirty and not just dull I tried cleaning an individual piece, which I was able to clean successfully with some hard scrubbing. However, I don’t have the time to clean thousands of pieces of broken glass. In addition, the kitchen strainer I used had to be thrown away, as I kept finding sand grain sized pieces of glass stuck in it.

Beautiful and large glass pieces for my gas fire pit. Since using them I’m getting a lot of comments from family and friends. Best part is that they don’t lose their color or shine!!

This was our first time to buy fire glass, so we were a bit skeptical. Other reviewers complained about having to rinse it off first, small shards, etc...Was it a tad “dusty”? A little, but nothing that made us want to waste our time washing it in water and vinegar. We’re there smaller shards of glass? Yes, but it was so minimal it didn’t bother us. Bottom line, it still looked amazing! The circumference we filled was 19” by 2” deep. Two containers of the fire glass was the perfect amount. I highly recommend this product. Happy fire glimmers ya’ll!

We ordered the Celestial Fire Glass High Luster, 1/2" Reflective Tempered Fire Glass in Dark Matter Black, 10 Pound Jar for our faux fireplace and it is beautiful. I thought the glass might be too modern looking for our traditional fireplace, but it was perfect. The glass beautifully reflects the changing orange light so that it looks like glowing embers under the logs. The plastic container made fire glass was very easy to pour with no mess. I would order again.
