Nice for the collection
Great collection. Part 3 is ok. 5 bucks more and you get the Scorpion king, which is a good film too. I also liked the commentaries for the first movie.

Ultimate Collection Worth Every Penny
Blu Ray with actual attention to upping the video quality not a hastily and poorly done job. Great campy movies my wife and I and now the kids all love. 1, 2 and Scorpion King all enjoyable for a rewatch now and again.

Great movies--not-so-wonderful packaging
The only reason I gave 4 stars, instead of 5, is because, as with other DVDs I've bought via Amazon, the interior was damaged. As the picture (below) shows, the interior holder was broken. In the top right of the photo, you can see the plastic "clip" the holder sits in, in two bits. The holder is meant to stack on top of the DVD on the left, but, with the broken pieces, the holder is no longer attached and shifts about inside the container, probably scratching the stationary DVD on the left. If I can't find a new container for this, I'll have to return it. I don't want a broken set. However, the movies, themselves, are great. Well, the first two are great, the third is good, and the fourth is...ah. Actually, I didn't realize I was getting a quartet. I thought I was buying The Mummy trilogy. I wasn't a fan of The Scorpion King, but...oh, well. I have it now.For my money, the Rick-Evie duo (and, of course, Jonathan) is classic. When I first saw The Mummy, I didn't know what to expect. I grew up on the old black-and-whites (thanks to my mother, who's the fan) with Boris Karloff (I think he's the original Imhotep). I can't say I was a fan of them (for me, I prefer to watch sci-fis with the Mystery Science Theater 3000 guys!), but that was my reference base. Anyhow, I watched The Mummy and was pleasantly surprised and impressed. One of the things I like most about it is the blending of intensity with humor. Some of the subject matter can be pretty heavy (a man roaming around without eyes and tongue, trying to talk and walk but failing, is not exactly high on my "see-before-dying" list), but such scenes are undercut with Rick and Evie and Jonathan bickering, flirting, or teasing. And Rachel Weisz and Brendan Fraser made such an adorable couple; they just worked well together. So, when the second Mummy came out, I gladly watched it. And again, I was pleased and impressed. Rick, Evie, and Jonathan are back and, along with the couple's son, Alex, just as entertaining as ever. However, though I adored Brendan's "Rick," I was sorely displeased to learn that they'd done another Mummy--WITHOUT Rachel Weisz. Though the premise is good enough, it just didn't have the charisma of the previous two, nor the O'Connell couple the chemistry that she and Fraser brought to the duo. Still, it had John Hannah, who, along with Fraser, manage to provide the comedic laughs expected for this series. As to The Scorpion King, well, I don't know why I didn't like it. I like The Rock well enough (he's good in Journey 2), but I just wasn't into him in a lengthy capacity as the Scorpion King, I guess. Nor am I a fan of Kelly Hu. (I first saw her on TV opposite Arsenio Hall and Sammo Hung in Martial Law and thought she was okay, but she was a sidekick and not one of the main characters.) I guess it just comes down to no interest in a full 2-hour story of the Scorpion King, nor of 2 hours centered around The Rock and Hu together. Maybe, for me, they didn't have the chemistry necessary to support such a lengthy foray. Also, if I remember correctly, The Scorpion King is much darker, subject-wise, than the other three. All in all, I’m glad I bought this set. I just wish it hadn’t been broken. If I can’t find a container for it, I’m going to have to send it back and get another. I want this for my collection, but I don’t want it damaged. My advice: Buy it, but ALWAYS check to make sure the interior parts aren’t broken!
