Firstly make sure you order the correct cartridge for your tap, direct replacement, good quality, purchased before for another tap of the same type, no issues with fit or quality.Well worth the cost to stop drips, both sides replaced as a matter of course.

My tap (Howdens Lamona Swan Tap) started dripping several months ago, so I cleaned up the cartridge and everything worked okay. Then recently a noise developed from the tap every time any tap in the house was put on. I assumed that it was the cartridge. After watching a video on You tube, I felt comfortable that it was a job I could do. I was unsure what I would be getting with these cartridges - was it the top half as per one picture - or the whole thing as the other? The whole cartridges turned up with an Allen key to loosen the holder over the existing cartridges. Fitting them was very easy (turn water off, ensure plug in sink in case drop a screw and have a wrench to turn the cartridge). I had to remove a small screw in the top of the cartridge so that the handles to the tap would refit. The results were excellent - no drips and no noises. I would certainly have no hesitation in recommending these.

The cartridges themselves are ok if they are the right fit for the tap you have. My issue was that the tap itself was so full of limescale and other parts were worn so it was hard to rely on just new cartridges. I suspect with most taps these days that if you have got 10 years out of them it may be time to change the tap, not just the cartridges

Perfect fit for Howden’s Lamona Garda Tap. Was easy to replace my old leaking cartridges with these. Just need an adjustable spanner. I Made the mistake of buying some generic ones from screwfix which had the wrong tooth count thinking the grub screw would hold the handle on well enough. I was wrong. Do yourself a favour and get the right one for the job.

These were a perfect fir for our Howdens Lamona Victorian swan neck kitchen tap. Easy to install, and now no more drips. Hopefully they’ll last as long as the ones originally fitted (3 years). Recommended.
