LIZAVODS-002 Stainless Steel Soft-Catch Magnetic Door Stop in Flat Black, Wall Mount (Black 2 Pack)

I thought this was like one of the ‘soft touch’ latches where you push it in slightly then it pops out and the door opens. This is not that. This door stop releases to the extended position when you close the door, then when you open the door and the two parts make contact, it pushes to the fully retracted position. The only time this is very magnetic is in retracted position when the ball makes contact with the magnets. Once it was installed and I watched it work, it made perfect sense. It works very well for us. Some reviews mention the latch being too strong and you have to yank hard to get the door free. We did not have that problem at all. It is not going to blow shut on its own but it isn’t super strong either. It has just the right amount of magnetic pull.Full disclosure, this above applies to the second one we installed. The first one was weak, you had to get the door set just so or it would not hold. I contacted the merchant and asked if there was a way to replace the magnet. I was expecting guidance on a fix or maybe a new magnet that we could swap out. The merchant sent us a brand new everything, and they were very fast. The replacement door stop was exactly what we needed.I recommend this product and highly recommend using this merchant.

I got these for the doors in our office. We always hang large coats on the back of the doors and then they would swing halfway shut. This works really well to keep the door open even when there are multiple puffy coats on the back of the door. You do have to yank it a little bit to get it unlatched from the magent on the wall. However, this works perfect for my office due to the coat situation. I don't know that it would be great for an interior door in a house as the magnet is quite strong.

The media could not be loaded. I researched many products before settling on this door stop/holder. I have a courtyard door that will not stay open and blows closed if it's windy- not good for the dogs. I wanted an inconspicuous door stop. This is a well-designed and engineered piece. I attached one side to the door, and the other side to the wall. When I open the door, the magnet catches the door stop. There is a hydraulic action that allows the door stop to flex if the door slams open.One part I attached with ease into the wooden door. The other part I screwed into masonry. The directions and parts included made it quite simple. I did use a drill with the provided screw anchors to secure the part against the stucco.

Looks good. Simple to Install. Engineered very well, with the "hydraulic" effect. Magnets are strong enough to hold open self-closing doors, but do not require a feat of strength to disengage the door.

Good item and works well. The only complaint I have is that there were tiny dents around the circumference of the smaller part. I would expect any new item to be perfect.It would have also been good to receive a small paper with installation instructions. However, looking at the item for some time would tell the average person about how it needs to be installed. Some people could have difficulty.

Impressive magnetic force! I installed this as a holdback for a heavy door with a spring hinge and this definitely holds the door open...a little too good! I found I initially had to really give the door a hard yank to release it then I followed the advice of another review I read here and covered the receiving ball with fingertips I cut off an exam glove. I ended up applying three to achieve just the right amount of contact force so it holds the door back securely against the pull of the spring hinge and now releases easily with a gentle tug on the handle. Fortunately the glove tips are grey so not the least bit noticeable.The cushion action on the receiving ball is excellent to absorb an “over push” when opening the door saving the wall from the potential injury from the door handle. I have already received one “huh, that’s cool!” Compliment :)The one star deduction is for the limited directions for installation. It took a few head scratching moments to interpret the technical language identifying the parts because you need to disassemble the two pieces in order to install them. If you are installing on a wall (to hold back at the top of the door) I strongly recommend making sure it is secured to a stud because after using this I doubt wall anchors would last considering the initial force required to release the door.Overall, very happy!

I made the "mistake" of greasing the hinges on some doors which got rid of the squeak, but the doors would not stay shut. Doorstops & folded up cardboard certainly worked, but was unsightly and a pain to constantly move around to work the doors. I found these magnetic stops and figured I would give them a try. These are very easy to install and work fantasically well. The "soft close" fearture even takes out some of the rattle that you would get from a solid stop and once the magnet "grabs" is keeps the doors closed. No more bumping into half-closed doors at night. Wish I had found these a long time ago. Plan to get even more and install them throughout the houseAlso...one of the units seemed to have a weak magnet so I was concerned that it might loose it's ability to keep the door closed over time. I emailed the company late on a Saturday evening at the start of a 3-day weekend to see if I could get a replacement magnet expecting to maybe hear something back by the following Tuesday. I got an email in a little over an hour and a replacment unit was sent out & arrived within a few days. You couldn't expect any better customer service than that!

Great door stop. I installed this outside on my back door two years ago and it woks just as good as the first day. It’s been through two winters and three kids worth of abuse. No rust either. Highly recommend.

I bought two of these for the doors in my house that wouldn't stay open and would drive me crazy. The door to my playroom would always close, and for some reason my dog really likes to be in there but can't figure out how to open the door when there's even 6 in or so of gap left, so he would always get stuck in there and sit at the door and whine forever (even though he really should be more than capable of opening the door but whatever he's special LOL). This keeps the door open so he doesn't get stuck, and it holds strong enough that my toddler can't even close it on him. I put the second one on my garage door because it instantly slams shut as soon as you let go of it, which is super inconvenient when I'm hauling a bunch of stuff in and out of the garage. This holds it open so I can finish doing what I'm doing without opening and closing the door a million times. It was super easy to install. The only complaint that I have is that it is actually quite large and looks a little bit ridiculous. I think they could have made it a little bit Slimmer so that it was more aesthetically pleasing. However it is quite functional and does the job great.
