Very heavy duty lock. Works great securing my shipping container. Time will tell how well it stands up to the elements.

This thing is stout! I was looking for a lock that would fit three 5/8" steel braided cables. This one works perfectly (see photo) and the actual "shackle" is thick like the cables themselves. I didn't want to put a weaker lock around the cables because then it's much easier to just cut the lock than the cables. With this lock I'm confident that cutting either the lock or the cables will be tough. Not only is it very sturdy but the design also allows the shackle to freely rotate when it is locked. This makes it even more difficult to use a saw or some other device against it since the shackle will spin. The lock is very heavy and also has the added bonus of coming with five keys.

They are not rusted and they always pop open. The paint looks almost new. Where I live, Top notch, "Locksports", do not come out at night, stealing well used garden equipment. Parolees and drug addicts come out stealing, as soon as it gets dark. Years later, no problems. Key does not come out, until you resecure the lock. Helps keep the key from getting lost.

This fits easily in the shrouded lock on a standard container, and presents the key slot downwards. The keys are somewhat larger than I expected, about the length and thickness of a house key but approx 1/2" wide. I chose this lock because it doesn't have a giant overmolded grip on it and so blends in more easily on my everyday keychain. Of note, the key only turns about 1/4 turn before unlocking. When turned, the shackle shaft 'pops' out towards which is an interesting and kind of nice feature. Perhaps because of this ejection, they didn't include a knurled extension to the shaft to pull on. Hopefully this doesn't cause problems later with rust, as you wouldn't be as able to coerce the shaft into moving when frozen. Similarly, when locking, you can push the shackle shaft inwards to close the lock, and in doing so, your key is turned back to the starting position and can be removed. You can't remove the key with the lock unlocked. I subtracted 1 star because I would prefer the shackle shaft had a knurled extension to pull on, and also because it only comes with 4 keys, whereas more would have been very helpful. The key is too novel a design to be copied by a keysmith (I believe)

We’ve got some really gutsy bike thieves here, but this seems to have deterred them for now. I don’t see how anybody could cut through that. Within a day, I had to WD-40 it. Got a little bit rusty and was really hard to turn the key. Otherwise, it’s really heavy, really sturdy, really good lock.

Bought this to practice on, noticed the keyway deforming under minimal pressure. Within a couple of minutes I was able to snap the front of the keyway out and bypass the lock completely with a small multitool. I would imagine the same could be done with any decent standard screwdriver. If you want a big heavy lock to say "wow this is a big heavy lock", this is for you. I would not secure anything worth of value with this.

Lock was exactly what I was looking for to put in enclosed trailer. Very heavy duty and the design makes it hard to cut lock off, preventing theft. I was extremely disappointed to find that after one rain shower the lock was completely rusted the next day. If using indoors it would probably be just fine. Outdoors, needs some work on weatherproofing.
