Super handy to have
Great addition if you have a pistol with a rail adapter on the front. Caution for CZ owners. My CZ-75 SP01 and from my understanding other models as well.. the barrel and rail adapter are NOT parallel. You will shoot your magnetospeed if you don't offset the front of the adapter. I just used small squares of aluminum tape to shim the front of this adapter till it was safe to shoot.

I'm very disappointed with the way this works
I'm very disappointed with the way this works. I purchased a Magnetospeed partially because of this piece, and found that it really doesn't work well on pistols. I tried on a Sig P320 and a Walther PPQ .22 first. Neither of them would pick up a bullet at any sensitivity (the .22 doesn't surprise me, but the Sig was disappointing). I also had a Glock 22 with me, but the red mounting plate would not physically fit into the pic rail section on the Glock, it was too big. This was especially disappointing since full size Glocks are one of the firearms that Magnetospeed specifically list compatibility with. I also tried a Canik TP9, and while I did actually end up able to get a reading, it was not consistent. We we're getting measurements around 1200fps, but then every couple of shots we'd get a reading well over 2,000.I went home and tried to fit it onto an XD, and same problem, the pic rail block was too big. So I ended up having to file it down to get it to fit. It'll take another trip to the range to see if I can get this thing working accurately, but at this point I just don't have much faith. It just sits too low. I also don't anticipate good results mounting this to a full-length pic rail on a rifle. Being able to adjust the height to your rifle appears to be crucial to getting a good reading, and this doesn't allow you to do this.Hopefully someday a low profile mounting system will come out or something. Until then, I'm just going to keep trying trial-and-error until I hopefully find a pistol in each caliber that this can be used on.

Would Not Work
The MagnetoSpeed rail adapter would not work for me. No matter how I tried, the blade was too low below the bore. I gave up on their setup and came up with another method to mount the whole thing to my rifles.

Finally: A Rail Attachment for MagnetoSpeed
One limitation on the MagnetoSpeed chronograph is how it attaches to a firearm. Being able to attach the unit to a firearm with a Picatinny rail expands the utility of the chronograph substantially.

Not for pistols...
This product did not work on any of my pistols with picatinny rails. The gap was too large between the bayonet sensor and the bottom of the barrel in every case. Even with the sensitivity set at 11 I didn't get readings. I sent back the adapter and the chrono. They should make it clear in their description that this is not meant for pistols.

Great product, it was not assembled as it looks ...
Great product, it was not assembled as it looks to be in the picture, took me a little bit of time to figure it out, but it all made sense once i did, the instruction book helps.

Good adapter at good price!
I used this adapter with my Glock 17. Fits perfectly, Magnetospeed V3 worked perfectly.

Pricey but needed
Pricey for so small of a all plastic unit, but need for AR style rifles. Love the Magnetospeed V3 for load development and knowing what velocities particular rifle is producing for given cartridges used.
