They are the best coms system around at a price thou.
Having the ability to answer phone calls and messages is must for me on my bike, not only that having some background music is something that makes any journey a pleasure and for that you need a intercom system. Now we all know there are so many different ones around and I personal have gone through a few myself, from other brand names too cheap imported china own system, and a lot work well, and give you the freedom of communication while on your bike. I use a iPhone as my name phone, and some of the features of this is Siri, Like Android with its Google Assistant, and then there is also Samsung with Bixsby all are great to use but making sure your comms system can work with these are not as easy. I found a few cheap system that work well, but do not last, or the sound quality is modest at best, others like Cardo and Sena are more known for being the best around, and with that they do come at a price. I went for the Cardo based of reviews (like my own) and it offered what I wanted and needed from a comms system. I was able to fully access my phones feature, and with the Cardo Packtalk Edge you also get the “Hay Cardo” feature to make some feature that bit more easier to access. Using “Hay Cardo Music on” to start your music is easy, while yes you can also say “Hay Siri” play playlist bike…. Which allows you easy ways to play your music on the go, the down side I personally found was the “Hay Cardo” like to randomly switch on the radio when I was talking over the intercom, and that it activated without needing to use the words “Hay Cardo”. So having a way to disable some actions would be really useful, like to disable the radio from activating unless you did it from the physical buttons on the unit or via the iPhone app for it. Apart from that the comms side of having a couple of ppl talking over intercom is great, the range isn’t as good as I thought, less than 500m a lot of the time in built top area, and that’s on DMC, not tested direct on bluetooth thou. I love having music on why also talking, that feature alone makes the Cardo worth every penny and there are a lot pennies to buy this setup. The only one other area was sound quality, I did expect more from it for the price, and to get the high spec speakers (45mm JBL) are close to an extra £100 on top. The units are easy to fit and setup with your phone as well as GPS units ( I have mine link to phone and tomtom 550) you get everything you need in the box for all style of helmets to mount it too, and it’s so easy to fit your be up and running in no time. Also now run them to my bike for use which also works great. Overall I really happy with my purchase of the Cardo PACKTALK Edge and It work really well, If they came with the 45mm better sound quality speakers from stock they would get a 10/10 but based on the costs you pay for this setup I can only give it a 9/10. If you want the best and got the money then these are for you no question on that. So easy to use with the iPhone app, and I love all the features. You really couldn’t go back to a standard setup once you tried these. Just need more people to get on the DMC network for more fun in group rides this way 🙂 I purchased the Duo set as I wanted my wife to have one, I also brought the 45mm JBL speaker to upgrade them.

Amazing!
Omg.. I was concerned because of the cost, most I ever spent was £100 on a headset previously.. but this is WELL WORTH IT. Sound is crystal clear even at 70mph.. the ability to adjust its own volume depending on ambient noise around you is great.. I had my music loud and could hear every lyric but I could still hear cars passing me closely too and hear my bike. The cardo voice recognition takes a bit of getting used to, but after a few trial and errors I got better at it.. pretty funny too because i tried every command to get it to play music before admitting defeat and actually reading the manual on its commands.. music on is not in my vocabulary apparently. The voice also hears you even if your in a loud environment and are not shouting. It understands me well despite my Welsh accent. Not sure how it would handle thicker accents though. The cardo voice also makes life easier when wanting to make a phone call or change music etc while riding in busy traffic and you can't free your hands. The magnetic holder is amazing. No faffing around with wires to unplug or charge it.. simply place it near the holder andbthe magnets do the rest. Its also very strong.. im curious by nature so I tried to see if I could pull it off. No you can't and trying will probably break a nail. It's easy to remove properly though too. The mic is brilliant at phonecalls too. Going along the motorway in rain at 70mph and my caller could hear every word I said easily. It seems to be sturdy in resisting water too. I havent tried the intercoms yet but I will update when I do. I'm just waiting on a willing ride companion to Do so. The app is easy to navigate and you can change voice sensitivity and volume levels amongst other things on it to suit you. All in all. I love it. The comparison to a cheap one isn't even plausible. It's better in every way by far.. its worth the money!

Excellent audio quality, effortless operation.
This kit has been amazing! It's so much better than the prevous PTT radios we used to use. We've never had a single issue with hearing false activations of the mic (e.g. when coughing or from wind noise etc.). The Youtube videos on PackTalk YT channel are very infromative in helping you get it set up easily. Battery seems to last forever! I've only charged it a couple of times since initial setup. They automatically connect to your phone and each other so no manual effort required at all. All in all I'm very glad we purchased them!

Superb bit of kit BUT you need to read about the speakers
Ive had quite a few Cardo units for my helmets and find them to be the number 1 leader for helmet headsets. Yes they are expensive but at the end of the day you get the great technology over your other website sellers. Now, you need to follow this regarding the speakers. Many helmets now have speaker sections in the helmets to velcro the speakers into. Not all of us have the same ears and the speaker moulds do NOT fit perfectly for our ears. If your soekers seem muffled or not very loud then your speakers are NOT fitted correctly. Take your speakers out, put them to your ears and if they are louder then your speakers need to be adjusted in your helmet, even just a fraction out and the voulme will be lower, dont just fit the speakers in the helmet speaker holder, use one of the spacers provided and move the speaker towards the front and down a few mills, this will be a lot better for you. Anyway, onto the unit, very simialr to the other units from cardo but this is a lot better for 1 - 1 comms with another rider, group chats are a breeze to set up. Another tip is if you are riding out of bluetooth range, then most of us all now have unlimited calls from your mobiles, simply make a phone call to the other rider and call over the mobile network !! Simple but very effective. For group chats out of bluetooth range then use WA for a group chat. I have had chats with my brother on his way home as we split in different directions and can still communicate 25 miles apart as we use a mobile call to each other. I would not get any other headset other than Cardo, the ones sold using the famous F1 driver are sadly over rated and no where near as good as Cardo !! Update 27/01/2026 - I had a small niggle with an update provided by Cardo - my unit would not update, I had already registered the unit online with Cardo and all accepted. I finally managed to speak to a CS lady at Cardo who stated that as the unit was not bought from an official seller the warranty is not valid - SOOOOOOOOO, I politely explained to the CS lady that the unit was not stolen, it has been registered online and was accepted online for the warranty. Cardo have supplied Amazon with their units to be held in stock by Amazon and to be supplied and posted by Amazon, they also have a seller account with Amazon and Amazon hold funds in their account on behalf of Cardo, making Amazon a legal seller of Cardo units and to whom Cardo have a contract with, making Amazon UK basically an authorised seller. I then went quickly into the UK Consumer Rights act 2015, which covers me anyway never mind about who I bought it from. After about 3 mins being put on hold I was transfered to their tech dept, advised how to do a hard reset and the unit then was working fine. I was then transfered back to CS wjo assured me that if I had any further issues then my warranty would be valid. Now, this is outrageous CS from Cardo, if you ever have any issues from anyone from what you have bought quote the Consumer Rights act 2015, read up on it from Google and you are covered. I am not one to write off to companies and complain but I felt the need to do this to Cardo today. I doubt very much that I will get a reply, but not what I expected from a large seller of expensive audio equipment.

Great sound quality
After researching for several weeks the Cardo Edge consistently emerged as the best coms unit for bikers. Fitting it was realitively easy, just need to take your time. There are some helpful youtube videos that i watched prior to fitting my unit to my full face helmet. The sound quality is great although i have only as yet tried it at home. The voice controls work well switching from taking calls to radio to music. My only gripe up to now is that after purchasing and fitting the unit i found it £50 cheaper on a couple of other websites.

Riding with tunes
Easy to use, has good functionality when riding, fits well in my carbon shark spartan helmet. Was too tight when fitted to my agv k5s tho but i think the issue was that helmet is just smaller. Sound quality is good, how the speakers are fitted in your helmet makes a big difference here’s. All in great value for money, good app, easy to pair, easy to use, love the convenience of how the unit comes on and off the mounting plate. Not hard to fit. Voice commands work well. Phone calls are clear and the person on the other end cant even notice I'm on my bike. As much as it’s not cheep, worth the extra for the quality and assurance of it being s respectful brand.

Amazing tech, couldn't be without it now.
Probably one the best things I've purchased as a motorcyclist. The ability to be able to talk with friends on a ride is priceless on top of being able to receive calls and listen to music. The voice control is very good as well so I'd go for the better model over the spirit for that alone. Quality on calls is seamless, I've had conversations whilst I've been doing 70mph and the person on the call didn't even realise I was on a bike. Buy it, you wont regret!

Mediocre Product
I’ve been using the Cardo Edge for a few weeks now, and overall it’s a solid piece of gear. Audio quality is crisp and the mesh connectivity is a big plus. Battery life hasn’t been too bad. However, the rider-to-rider range isn’t quite as impressive. In real-world conditions, I found it to cut out before the 1 km or so threshold. When riding through winding lanes or areas with trees and buildings, the signal can cut out intermittently, which is a bit frustrating during group rides. With the price of product I thought it be flawless connection. That said, it’s still one of the better comm systems out there, especially if you’re mostly riding close together. Just don’t expect flawless long-distance communication in all terrains. Would I recommend it? Yes, (only because it looks better than the senna and dont need to put the ariel up. with the caveat that you manage your expectations on range.
