The fact that it did not come with screws doesn't bother me. I build cabinets (specifically custom A/V home entertainment systems and Computer desks out of 3/4 inch oak veneers and solid oak molding among other things) I bought the Daylight UN1030 Naturalight 7-Inch Magnifying Lamp and knew it too has a screw clamp to secure it to whatever. I don't like screw clamps except when I am building something. I bought this specifically as I recently finished a mobile work bench for myself. The clamp works PERFECTLY. I secured it to the side of the mobile work bench with #6 ~ 3/4 oval head wood screws. Perfect fit. I LIKE having the screw clamp that came with the lamp as that is "mobile" and can be set up almost anywhere. The mobile work bench was built with many projects in mind and is perfect working height (standing OR with wood stool for sitting) This mounting is solid as a rock. I doubt that it is aluminum as it too heavy for cast aluminum. Either way, it is built to last a lifetime and I agree with one of the previous views that it IS PRICEY. Ridiculously pricey. I agree that $10 would have been a better figure. BUT, having written that, I didn't mind so much the cost after I received it. SERIOUSLY heavy duty. I agree with the gentleman that said it is too wide for a stud. In my case that didn't matter. The lamp is ultra cool and illuminates my workbench exceptionally well. This mount ensures I will get years / decades of use from it. I would wager the lamp will give out before this mount does.

We ordered this because the description of the lamp didn't mention a mount. We came away with the impression that you had to buy it separately. Turns out the lamp came with a screw type clamp for the edge of a desk. This mount is heavy metal and strong. It didn't come with screws. Fine for me. I have lots of odds and ends. Might bother some people. Lamp slips down in it and rotates easily.

High quality heavy duty aluminum. No hardware included, which is the only reason I give it 4 stars. 2 star reviewer's mounting concerns may be over-blown. If you've screwed something to your wall before, this will be second nature.

Holds up the mag lamp ok, but is a PAIN to install. The screw holes are located so close to the perpendicular part of the bracket that you can't really get in with a drill or power screwdriver. This bracket must be VERY SECURELY mounted into a stud. The movement of a mag lamp on the arm puts a ton of pressure on the mount and it will loosen and fall out over time. Also if you have to install in metal studs, watch out, the two upper screws are spaced too far apart to get both into the side of the stud- you will have to install some kind of interface to make it secure.

This is a perfect wall mount for Daylight swing arm magnifying lamp......great to have it accessible to use over sewing machine and craft table. It really saves floor space as I originally was using it on a floor stand.

It is sturdy and well done but… pricey. I think 10 dollars less it's a reasonable price…with shipping. Don't hesitate if you don't have another way to mount it.
