Buy it cause it’s great!!!!
I LOVE THIS THING. I am a single mom with 2 toddlers and needed something that’s was 1) lightweight, 2) easy to put up and take down by myself, and 3) able to protect me and my toddlers from the sun, while also being able to enjoy the sand. This fits the bill! PROS- I can put it up in about a minute and take down is the same, the moveable shade cover makes us constantly shaded, my babes can play in the sand AND be in the shade, the straps between the corners/poles are great to put rocks/wagons/logs/backpacks on for added weight on a windy day, the color is super bright (I have the neon green one) so your spot on the beach is easy to find. CONS - I don’t really find this as a con, but you might - the shade cover collects lots of sand when you pack it up. There is constantly sand in the bag or on the cover when I open it, but I like it as a reminder of the last beach we visited. Just buy it already!Update 9/2021: after using this over 30 times, I destroyed it, but it’s all my fault. Do not attempt to force the poles closed while intoxicated. Despite the error of my ways, my 5 stars remain and I plan to buy a new one because nothing else compares!

GENIUS !
This is the greatest piece of design/engineering I've seen since my '02 Mini Cooper. Elegant in it's simplicity. Even a bumbler like myself can set it up and take down in a couple of minutes-solo. Light, easy to carry, and unbelivaby cheap. IMHO much nicer looking than all those ubiquitous little square circus tents. ( OK-I'm an Architect=obsessive ). Buy it even if they double the price !

This one is overall the best canopy in my opinion
I searched for a while, looking for a canopy that is light weight, easy set up/take down, can accommodate 4 people with at least sitting height. This is the only one I found, and the price is reasonable. The first day we used it, we received compliments, and people ask where we bought it. It fits in our trunk. I can easily carry it, and set up/take down is a breeze. It's like a cute little "house" on the soccer field. It still gets hot when it's really hot, but it is better than without any shade. We used to just use golf umbrellas, but you have to hold it all the time. The canopy is large enough to fit 4 adults and two kids (we are not large people though). I'm quite pleased with this purchase. Will use it a lot.

Improved design!
*UPDATE: the manufacturer of this product contacted me to inform me that they have applied my suggestion & added ventilation “windows” on the top of the canopy to allow air to pass through. I’m going to try out the new improved model & see if it’s more sturdy after the improvements. I’m raising my score from 3 to 4 stars because the company actually listens to their customers. I’ll update again once I’ve had the chance to see how the improvements contribute to the stability if the product.I like that this pop up shade is super easy to set up & take down. I bought it for this reason. I wanted to be able to set up & take down a pop up shade device on my own without any assistance. It certainly met my expectations in that respect. I also like that it’s super compact & easy to transport. The reason I gave it 3/5 stars is that, once it’s set up, it is not all that sturdy. The wind blows it around quite a bit. You have to be sure to secure all 4 “legs” extremely well or it’ll blow away. Even when it’s tightly secured, the smallest breeze blows the “tent” part around quite a bit. If the top of the canopy had some type of ventilation, it might let wind through & reduce the instability.

Money-wasting disaster!
extremely difficult to put up & one leg won't lock into place! if you watch the setup video, it's so obvious that it was edited to cut out the part where the struggle happens (little disconnect in the video frame flow). the instruction sheet does not accurately represent how to set up. you have to actually pull and hold all the legs outward, coax the middle hub up, pull and hold legs, coax hub up again, repeating these steps until the hub finally meets the top connector. for me, the clip that holds the hub and connector together just wouldn't grab even though it was right where it needed to be. moving on, extending the legs up was a breeze.....until the fourth leg wouldn't lock into place at all, no matter how much we tried. we could see when the little latch reached the spot it should lock into because the button on the leg would try to pop out, but it just wouldn't lock in, just kept sliding right on by. no matter how carefully & slowly we tried to get it to grab, it just wouldn't. what a money-wasting disaster!i'd also add that 8'x8' is a bit misleading because the the dimensions at the top are not included. i didn't take into account the slope from bottom to top, so a 4’x4' work table placed in the corner will not give me 4' extra workspace on 2 sides, as i had hoped. upper dimensions would have made it easier to gauge actual work space. also, because of the slope, the inner 6.5" only applies to the center spot, of course. i'm 5'5', so that is not an issue for me. but, just something to keep in mind if you decide to take your chances on this thing.

Quick and Easy to Use
Very pleased with the Instant Shade Canopy. I use it at the beach. It's easy to transport and set up. Works great, even in moderate wind.

Nice and easy to set up.
I wanted something small for two purposes. I have a small patio that gets a lot of evening sun. This fits perfect. And two something to take with me on trips either to the beach or camping. I am a 50 year old 5’3” woman and can put up by myself. It is light. And probably would not withstand a heavy windstorm. It has thin fabric. BUT for the price and what I wanted it for. Can’t beat it. It comes with one wall also. And vents at the top of the canopy for ventilation. There is a hook to hang a light in center and two mesh pockets on inside for belongings. All in all I like it. The stakes are the flimsy metal kind. Not what they show in video of set up. But that’s ok. I will get some sturdier ones. No big deal.
