Great torch
I only got this cuz I was looking at the cheap China made torches and someone posted a review mentioning iwatani. I figured why not and this thing rocks. It’s so much better than my small torch I had before and also my propane torch gun. For some reason it just gives a cleaner taste. Only thing is there’s no smaller setting so it’s a strong flame but it works and is fast.

Great purchase!
This was inexpensive and great for seasoning our wok! The butane lasts just about forever. We also used it to change the fixture on our tub faucet because the heat helped release some corrosion!

Would be 5 stars with a less sloppy flame adjuster
One of the best torches on the market even with the minor issue I've had. I'm not sure if it's just the one I received or if it's typical of this torch, but the flame adjuster could use some sort of tensioning device. It's quite loose and prone to changing each time it's picked up. Other than that it feels good in the hand, lights every time, and produces a nice uniform flame.

Big flame- works great
I had the old Iwatani and this one is much better - big hot flame that can be spread or pointed depending on the need. Also more comfortable to hold the trigger on than the kind with a front trigger

Fun! And kinda scary
Got this in order to add the final touch to some creme brule. Did the job surprisingly quickly. The sound of the flame / gas took me aback at first. The flame shoots out a fair bit more than I was expecting! ...of course, my only other frame of reference is lighters and matches.

Not sure if this is normal.
I don’t know if this is normal. You will get into scenarios that you need to burn it in an upside down position. It takes a while to shut off after I release the trigger and right now I’m not sure if it’s 100% sealed.

Good basic Butane Torch
This is a nice little Butane Torch for cooking. We like using it to sear Salmon for sushi, and for Creme Brulee. It's easy enough to use, but I wish there was an adjustment for how strong the flame is (instead of just moving it further away from the food). The box and included instructions are in English and written for the US Market but there are Japanese touches, like informing you that the product is rated (only?) for 3000 butane canister installs and 6000 ignitions. I guess everything has a limited lifespan but 6000 is not much if used a few times a day consistently (more than we'd be using it of course).

Garbage not fit for a kitchen
Absolute garbage. Only on & off; ZERO adjustable settings--the only speed on this is full blast. You have to have a variable setting in the kitchen for different applications. This is garbage and practically burnt everything it touched.

Feels very sturdy compared to other torches, I've had so many they just keep breaking. The added stand helps a lot with weight distribution and it doesn't randomly fall over when the butane is low.
