This was great to scaffold for my 1st grader that is a very hesitant writer when coming up with ideas on his own. Highly recommended!

Good book

Pros: The book offers great sentence starter ideas such as 1) "The bird sings." 2) "Fix the shelf." Cons: Pay attention to the samples provided before buying. Many of the sentence starter prompts are presented in the form of a sentence (with a capitalized first word and a period ending, such as: "My glasses." "A shiny ring." "The cold ice cream." For proper learning only complete sentences (statements, questions, commands) should be presented with a period, while other sentence starter prompts should be presented to the student as such: "my glasses", etc. We do not wish for students to believe that sentence fragments are true sentences. Prompts don't need to look like sentences if they are not.

Book is amazing. Brings creativity by using pictures and completing the sentence.
