Great design; performs as described. Compact & makes it so easy to shred & grate vegetables without risk of cutting fingers. Compact design great for cupboard storage. Minor observation: it stains the gray plastic parts when you shred or cut carrots or vegetables with bright colors.

This thing works like a charm! I've used everything from the old Mouli metal shredder (growing up) to box shredders to hand-helds, to you-name-it over the last 50 years. But I wasn't happy with what I had now, and after reading a bunch of reviews and looking at several products I settled on this one. Boy am I glad I did! It's compact, light-weight and easy to assemble/disassemble and clean. But the main thing is: it works really well and easily for what I want most to do, which is grating carrots for salad and slicing potatoes to go into my hydrator to make chips. Here is what I've learned in using it several times: for slicing potatoes, you must cut them in small enough chunks to easily fit in the clear plastic chamber. I found that if the pieces were tall and I held them by hand (instead of using the pusher) I had difficulty getting consistent slices. But as soon as I cut a smaller chunk and used the pusher - voila! And it's really fast. For grating carrots, you can hold them by hand (until they get too short) and away they go. And the shred is perfect for carrots and potatoes, as far as I'm concerned, not too small or too large. I tried it on cabbage and that worked OK too although the shred comes out a little smaller than I prefer for my cole slaw. So I just reserved one chunk to hand-slice more coarsely into the slaw which satisfied my need for some "crunch". If you want a fine grate for nuts, the smaller size grater does that very well too.I had also been tempted by an electronic salad shooter, but I'm pretty sure that this is a better choice for me -- I carry the whole thing over to the sink, run water over and through it without worrying about getting a cord wet (I don't even disassemble the whole thing - I just remove the drum), plus I can operate it anywhere. Turning the crank takes just seconds and works smoothly and easily. Also, when you use the locking mechanism the shredder is not going anywhere -- it just hugs the counter. Other than a coarser grate for cabbage -- I can't imagine any improvements!

Easy to set up and clean. Shreds foods real well. Suction cup works great to stock to counter when in use. Easier to clean and less hassle than an electric one when only needing small quantities.

Grating cheese, potatoes, carrots, etc. is quick and easy. However, the slicing wheel does not slice very well.

I would like to say that this shredder has really saved my knuckles from pain using the regular shredder. I purchased this rotary shredder because I grate a lot of cheese often and I just wanted a more proficient way of grating the cheese. Well, I ordered this shredder, which all you do is turn the handle. Upon receipt of this rotary shredder, I washed all parts and then I assembled. Which by the way was easy to assemble. I used the grater and was so surprised as to how fast I was finished. I also, ran the parts used under hot water and everything basically just washed away. This shredder is very easy to clean and stores away without bucky parts. It does come with a part holder to store away as well. It suctioned perfectly to my counter top without any movements. I would recommend that you use a bowl to catch your shreds, and yes some of your shreds may not shred perfectly as with anything. However, it does the job. I really like this shredder and stand behind it. This is my own personal review of the Rotary Shredder.

Love this thing! Someone else recommended this for shredding cheese. I haven't had a reason to shred cheese since I got this, but my 6yr old was eager to see it in action & wanted pieces of cheese for a snack so we set it up. The slices did get get caught in the drum & I had to gently pull them out but that wasn't a big deal. What was a big deal was how quickly & easily the cheese got sliced! I have no doubt it will shred just as well as it slices. I told my adult son that I was going to pack our handheld cheese grater away because I can't imagine ever going back to that thing.I haven't used this for anything other than cheese yet,, but I see no reason it won't handle veggies well also. As an aside, I own a mandolin slicer. A nice one, restaurant or almost restaurant quality(christmas present one year). But frankly, it scares me a little because it's too easy to get cut & you still have to move the block of cheese back & forth over it. This is more efficient & safer. I suppose I can't re-gift the mandolin without the box can I?My only concern with this is that while the suction has kept it in place while I'm using it, it releases itself if I do anything else for no real reason I can figure out, so I'm a little concerned that the suction will eventually not hold. For now it's working. Other than that, it goes together easily & the design makes sense. The pieces click into place securely. It washes up well & easily. All around I'm happy someone recommended I get one of these & I'm happy with this model.Update! I've been using this at least a couple of times a week since I got it. Found the suction works really well actually as long as I make sure both device & counter are clean & press down on it a little as I set the suction.I wish I'd known about this years ago. I'll never go back to any other method of grating.

So we've had this for a while and love using it. It's quick and is easy to assemble and disassemble for cleaning and easy to change the blades between tasks. We have only ever cleaned this by hand with a brush. So today, on Christmas eve, while making several of our treats for tomorrow, the tab on our most used blade (shred) literally came off in my hand while washing it under the water. So now we have a useless blade for shredding which is the main thing we use this product for (but not all). Where do we buy replacment parts? Good question. I certainly not going to buy a whole new thing for one part. Tired of cheap throw away plastic crap going into landfills. I'll just use my metal hand shredder or our electric food processor (a pain to clean for quick jobs) again I guess.

This product is so flimsy it is unlikely to last more than a month. The handle is held on my a small pop out plastic button which seems very fragile, it is insecure and it wobbles and falls off during use. I tried it once then packaged it straight up to go back. Thank goodness for Amazon’s excellent returns policy.

Me gusta mucho el aparato pero es un poco dificil de usar. No tiene peso, y cuando estoy girando la manija, tiene la tendencia de inclinarse o moverse alrededor del mostrador. Necesito algo para asegurarlo a la mesa o el mostrador. Es facil de assemblar y limpiar, and corta muy bien.
