The molds are durable, flexible, re-usable plastic molds that are tempered to withstand the high temperatures necessary for making hard candy, but can also be used to create molded chocolates. Each mold measures about 7.5" x 9.5" and makes 90 pieces measuring 3/4" across and 1/4" thick. The liquid food coloring is perfectly suited for hard candy (but not chocolate), and comes in 1-ounce bottles of red, purple, green, and blue. The flavors are highly concentrated, and are all clear so that they won't interfere with the coloring you use -- mix and match your colors and flavors! Includes one-dram bottles of Green Apple, Black Cherry, and natural Peppermint Oil. NOT WHAT I WAS HOPING IT TO BE
For some reason it would not let me order the kit with the different mold sheets, so I settled for the kit with 3 of the same shape. I really, really wanted to like this product. I threw a pirate party for my son's birthday and these candies went into the treasure box for the treasure hunt as favors. First of all, the instructions state one batch will fill 3 trays. It does, and then some. As these were the only molds I had, a lot of candy was wasted as I had nowhere to put the excess. Also, it states to fill each mold individually and not overfill or risk the candy shattering. Well, this is next to impossible as the candy liquid cools too fast to do it that way. I overfilled and took my losses, which were actually minimal. The sides of each cavity need to be raised so overflow is impossible and they can be filled quickly. The package also arrived damaged and the trays were not level, as is required in the instructions, which also caused some issues. The finished products that did not shatter were very pretty, but I think that had a lot to do with the vegetable spray you have to coat the molds in. Also, the flavoring is not very good. It has no potency and all the candy just tasted like melted sugar. The black cherry flavor smells odd. And if you add too much blue dye, it will not look blue, it will look green, so use it sparingly. It was a neat concept but overall disappointing. I'm giving it two stars only because the ones that did turn out were pretty.

Not good for hard candy
I'm surprised they advertise this for hard candy. We bought this and a silicone mold for making hard candy. The silicone molds worked beautifully but this mold was completely useless. We used both in the same batch so we know it wasn't a mixture issue. Candy stuck to this and ended up breaking every which way. Wish we hadn't wasted our money.I'm giving it a 3 star instead of 1 because of the flavors and colorings that came with it. Mold is worthless.
