Decent beginner guitar kit for the price. Only recommend this for first time players. Not a good gift for a current guitar player. Included travel case/bag is thin and provides very little protection. Amp worked when tested.

Arrived on time, packed very well. The blue guitar looks really good, the amp sounds pretty good for the size . Now the guitar it needed the string lowered, intonation needed a little tweaking and the frets are sharp, I'll wait on that until I put new strings on. Stretched the strings 3 times now it stays in tune.. all in all I'm very happy with the purchase and the price ( I've never owned it Fender style Stratocaster before, I like!

While this is an intro guitar, it is a GREAT intro guitar. I have had no problems with it, except it goes out of tune somewhat quickly. Positives: I've had this for over a year with no problems. It just works. It comes with everything you need (except maybe a guitar stand). The amp has distortion built-in. The negatives are merely the result of getting a cheap guitar. Negatives: Goes out of tune quickly. Guitar is a little noisy (i.e., there is noise in the circuitry). The amp gets too loud too soon (almost all of the volume change is between 0 and 2). The distortion isn't the best - I would recommend a good distortion pedal as the next purchase. As I said, for the price, it can't be beat. In fact, my next purchase was a distortion pedal, which cost more than the entire guitar setup! That's how inexpensive this guitar is. Highly recommended.
