Not Beil's Best
The first two books in the Red Blazer Girls series were so amazing that I expected books three and four to be just as superb. This series was my all time favorite until the Mistaken Masterpiece came out. But, I sort ignored how bad it was and put all my hopes in the Secret Cellar. I'm sorry to say that while this book was entertaining, it just doesn't live up to the exceptional mystery quality of books one and two of the series. By the time the first third of this book was over, I knew who the villan was and what was in the secret cellar. I don't want to ruin the plot, but the contents of the cellar are not exactly a kid's idea of treasure. Also, the clues in this book are next to impossible to figure out unless you are a college professor or an expert on history. The fact that the author expects his young readers to believe that his chararters (kids ages 9-12) can figure out such difficult clues so easily, is almost an insult to the story. At this point, I've lost faith in the series and probably won't buy book five. I wish Beil would revert back to the fun puzzle method of solving clues from books one and two. It was a recipe for mystery success.

PRETTY GOOD
This book was incredibly entertaining, though some of the questions were a bit difficult for someone my age. And how do they come up with these plans? Good overall, though. I really enjoyed it.

Amazing again, Michael D Beil!
As wonderful as the rest, please write another! Lighthearted but realistic, another good mystery, great plot line, and just overall a fantastic book.

Good book
This was a really good book and super cool to read. I would recommend this to any preteen girl who loves mysteries as well as solving them.

Best one yet!
All the Red Blazer adventures have been fun and full of interesting bits of information about art, history, New York City and lots more. The Secret Cellar is full of adventure, imagination and cleverness. More, please!

What a series
One more in the Red Blazer Girls series to entertain and enjoy. The characters just demand that you continue to follow their adventures.
