Not what I expected, but working well
Tldr: If you're looking for a slight to moderate amount of sound insulation, these might do the trick. This was my first time buying any kind of sound insulation. I recently bought a new TV and sound system, to mostly use for Xbox. The TV set up is about 8ish ft from a large wall that I share with a neighbor. I don't listen at a super high volume, but I was concerned mostly about bass passing through the wall, so my goal was partial dampening of deep tones through the wall. I have no experience with sound insulation, and from what I understand, it goes pretty deep. My expectations were low, and perhaps that has helped my positive perception of these squares. The wall I'm trying to block sound through is roughly 15ft long, 8ft tall, so I knew I didn't want to cover that wall, corner to corner, with sound insulation. I instead decided to put about 20 of them, in three rows (2 top row, 9 second row and 9 bottom), spaced one inch apart. I put them around the center of the wall, to block where the sound from the speakers would hit the wall. I decided to space them slightly, to get more total wall coverage, while hopefully (in theory) being close enough together to still block longer wavelength bass sounds. Putting them right up against each other would give better insulation, but at the cost of covering less of the total wall. I know very little about acoustics, but it made sense to me.On unpacking the squares I was immediately suspicious that I just got ripped off. The package was SO small, and thin. It was also super light. It made me think there was no way what I just bought could effectively stop any sound. After taking off the sealed plastic wrap, the squares quickly expanded. I didn't do any prep work, beyond laying them out flat, individually, across the floor. Within about 15 minutes they looked good enough to put up. My wall is covered in wood panels, so there is a grain to it. Because of its surface texture, I opted to be lazy and not pre clean the application surface. I used my open palm to press the glue backed squares into place. I made sure to press in firmly, holding for a few seconds, at center, and each of the corners, to get them to stick. I had zero issues applying them, they stuck immediately. There were one or two squares where I messed up the placement, so I had to peel them off and reapply. I didn't notice a substantial loss of adhesion from doing this, or difficulty removing the squares, once pressed in. The material is extremely light, and the adhesive should be more than enough to keep them in place, long term. After placing all the squares I realized that a few of them were slightly different in their dimensions. It's barely noticeable, but one is slightly longer than the rest, and another is smaller. It's minimal, and the material should be easy to cut with a razor blade, if someone needed an exact size. It took about 24 hours for the pyramidal shapes (not sure what to call them) fully extended out from the wall. There was a very minor scent to the squares. I wouldn't even describe it as "chemical", it just smelled a little different for a couple hours after putting them up. It wasn't a big deal for me.So far my neighbor reports a "noticeable" decrease in sound leakage from my apartment. The amount prior to installation was already slight, so it's kind of impossible to quantify the actual difference, based on anecdotal information from my neighbor and no digital sound equipment to measure. I'm not looking to get that deep into the rabbit hole, my neighbor saying it's better is good enough for me. I have noticed a positive difference on my side of the wall, that I wasn't expecting to get. If I hum, sing or talk while walking between my living room (w/the insulation) and my kitchen (connected room w/o), I can absolutely hear a difference in echo. It's apparent, but hard to describe. Like when it snows and the air feels "still" or "quiet". Lastly, and this bit could very well be in my imagination, because the effect is slight, sounds from my system sound cleaner, like they are more clear and have sharp ends.I wanted to include so many additional details of my situation into the review because I think it's important to understand how deep the field of acoustics can go, and how so many factors can change the outcome of what you'll get from these squares. I went in with low expectations, I didn't expect to throw up a few of these squares and suddenly feel like I'm in an isolation tank, I also didn't expect the squares to provide equal sound blocking from either direction, through the wall. I expected a very minor improvement to how much noise leaked into my neighbors apartment and am happy with the results. I consider it an added bonus that echo is cut down in my living room, and that perhaps things sound ever so slightly better, to my ear. Because of all that, I'm very happy to give 5 stars. These didn't cost a ton either. If your expectations aren't that high, then I'd definitely recommend trying these.

So so soundproof
Not really prevent the sound from outside the door but it's ok to decorating the room.

Lets get quiet!
These items were needed in my office due to my office getting a lot of vibrations from a passing train. These did work well although the adhesive did not really work so well. I had to use my own means to apply. But outside that. They work well.

Affordable dampeners
Pretty good for the price. Wish they were just a little bit thicker.

RV door
We use this for our RV sliding door where our daughter is sleeping. It was nice to apply these to the window of the door as it really helps increase the noise level in the area. I would say that we had trouble keeping the adhesive to stay if you had to readjust the padding, so make sure when you’re laying flat is exactly where you want it to be or you just wasted a pad.

Great for sound proofing
Reduced noise coming from my room. Also strong adhesion.

If it weren't for the 40% coupon, I'd be more pissed off.
Even after waiting for 2 days, it's mostly expanded to half an inch instead of the 1 inch description. As a test, I tried stacking 3 of them and it didn't really block much of the sound.

Sound Proof
works great.
