Camco Universal Vent Installation Kit with Putty Tape- Use to Replace or Install Roof Vents, Side Mount Vents Plumbing Stacks and Refrigerator Vents (25003)

Works great! It’s better than using caulking or putty and there’s no mess to deal with. I used it when I replaced the water heater in my camper. There was enough “tape” to go around the small opening on the outside of the camper. The package also comes with 20 1” self tapping screws as an added extra bonus. I didn’t need to use any of the screws, I just reused the original ones. Once installed the tape is very sticky but easy to maneuver. The tape holds tight and creates a great water tight seal. The finish product looks just like it came from the factory, there are no clumps or bunched globs of caulking around the corners of the heater. This tape is also flexible, I was able to stretch it in order ensure a great fit and a great looking finish.

I purchased this to install a Maxxair fan on top of my camper van build. I have used this product several times in the past and it always works well. Camco products have been a staple in RV parts for as long as I can remember… can’t go wrong.

This 'kit' worked wonderfully well with the vent I bought from a MH supplier online. The screws work perfectly and the putty tape was very malleable and easy to work with. I'm confident that the installation will never leak. I needed to replace my old vent because the flapper had broken off and the housing was cracked and dirt daubers were using the spot for their home. Now they are all gone and I have a new working vent/exhaust installed using Camco's vent install kit.

There is barely enough tape here to do a 14 x 14 fan I wish there were just a little more in the package for the money.

I've done a lot of old school plumbing, so I'm no stranger to rolling a strip of putty. This putty tape, though, has changed my whole relationship with that can of putty! The putty is laid down as a strip of uniform width and thickness, which makes it ideal for installing vent fans, windows - anything that passes through something like a roof or wall that you don't want to leak. I've used it on body patches on my old camping trailer, on the flanges of new vents on the roof, around vent pipes, etc., etc., etc. I've used it in far more places than I ever imagined I would. It's good stuff, and way, way easier to use than the old way of rolling a strip!

I have used this to install a water heater and replace vents on my RV. This is great because it is sticky and holds items into place. Then, when you clamp down on the screws to tighten whatever it is you're securing the product forms to the surface and creates a gasket! It's amazing. I then applied sealant over this, but in some applications that may not be needed. The extra hardware is great to have on hand, but I did not need it. I have enough leftover after the water heater and vents to use in the event I have other repairs to make.

I installed a roof vent in my bathroom and I used this for a little old lady I think it works really well I have not had any leaks.

I purchased this as I was installing new roof vents in my trailer. There really isn't much to say about it other than the screws are not self tapping. This may or may not be a problem for you. For me, it was a problem, my new vents had a different hole pattern for the screws and my trailer has a steel structure. Needless to say I needed self tapping screws as I wasn't about to pre drill then use the supplied screws. I don't know if the other reviewer actually got self tapping screws, but my two kits I purchased did not have them. I purchased it around July 2012. By the way, you don't need caulk along with this putty tape, the tape seals the joints, that is the main use for it, not sure why you'd need to caulk the joint as well.
