Cool Juratex Jazz Guitar Picks 8 Pack (1.2mm)

I purchased these to see if they might offer a cost effectiveness solution to the Gravity 003 Jazz XL. The grip is effective but it is abrasive on the skin. I have skin issues and don’t think these are going to work for me on long sessions sessions because they bite into the skin. They do work well and sound nice however and if you don’t have skin sensitivity issues they may be just the ticket.

Love the thickness at 1.2mm but the picks themselves are rather small. I would give it 5 stars if they were a little larger.

It took me years to find a pick that was perfect for me. I needed something that could handle speed-picking on a steel string acoustic but still not be unwieldy for chord strumming. I came across this by accident at Elderly Music. It’s hard enough to make a fast picker without being as clumsy, and without the scratching string noise, as a pick like some of the beefy Dunlop jazz. Single string to chord is easy, and with practice it will even handle Gypsy-style full-chord tremolo (at a hobbiest level; a Gypsy purist will hate it). I have more types and styles of picks than I know what to do with; when I loose my last one of these I start to panic.

These funny little picks help create clear, pure tone. The sound is also somewhat louder than most. I gave one to a student, she and I were amazed by how much better her guitar sounded. Sometimes it's the little things that count.
