what's the difference between the eero beacon and the eero 6 extender?

All work. But what you *should* get depends the Eero WiFi you already have: • Have Eero or Eero Pro (non 6): Add Eero Beacon (or another Eero) • Have Eero 6, 6+ or Pro 6 : Add Eero Extender (or another Eero 6/6+/Pro6) • Have Eero Pro 6E: Add another Eero Pro 6E. You will read that all Eero products are compatible, which is true. But an older, slower product cannot take (much) advantage of newer, faster additions to the network. And adding an even older, slower one, might actually force the mesh network to slow down. For example: if you add an Eero Beacon to an Eero Pro 6E, the latter won't be able to do much faster than the old Eero Pro which is halve the price.

Can use with eero pro 6?

Yes for "Eero Pro 6". But if you have "Eero Pro 6E", you should reconsider. It would work, but you'd lose much of the benefit of the 6E you paid for.

Is this the new beacon? will this work with the old eero pro i recently bought instead of buying a beacon? same thing but updated name?

It will work with older systems yes. I am doing exactly that.

I have att U-verse internet will this device work with their router and system

You can plug it in downstream of your existing router. I believe it will even work if substituted for your existing router as long as you have a modem. You may need to call ATT at time of setup to provision but I doubt it. We were up on it in 5 minutes.
