Love the etchings. Very pretty, solid little bell. For my needs it rings loud enough. Nicely priced.

If it wasn't for the clapper being on a cheap looking, too long chain and the clapper itself being on the small side I would have loved this bell. I'm going to see if my sweetheart can rig up a proper clapper for it. He is pretty handy and the bell itself is quite lovely. It is just a shame they put the cheap silver colored chain to hold the clapper instead of a proper clapper that would make the bell ring beautifully. Update, 3-24-24 I discovered the handle can be unscrewed from the bell and I was able to easily shorten the clapper as it is attached to the handle. With the shorter clapper I feel the ting of the bell sounds much better. I am now happier with my purchase. I would have liked a rod rather than a chain but now that the sound is better I am happy.

Great grip, feels well made. And looks beautiful! It does sound a bit soft and doesn't catch attention right away, but maybe I'll get used to it with time. So far, it has been very useful to attend the needs of injured relative - and that's the main reason we bought it.

I like this bell. It is attractive in an antique sort of way, and is inexpensive. I use it for training our dog, works great. ONE ISSUE, EASY TO FIX: As another reviewer mentioned (Laura, 23-Mar-2024), inside the bell, the chain on the clapper is too long. You try to ring the bell, and the clapper just sort of rolls around; the bell doesn't ring correctly. Fortunately, as Laura pointed out, this is quite easy to fix - it takes less than 2 minutes, and you can probably do it with no tools. If you happen to have needle-nose pliers and "nippers" (diagonal cutting pliers), it will be slightly easier, but not required: (1) Unscrew the handle on the bell, and pull it off, with the chain and clapper attached. (2) Use needle-nose pliers or your fingernails to (easily) open the link that holds the chain to the bell, and remove the chain. (3) Use that link to re-attach the chain to the bell, but attach it to the third chain link from the end (in other words, you won't be using the topmost 2 chain links). (4) Optional: For neatness, you can use "nippers" (diagonal cutting pliers) to cut the topmost 2 chain links off, since you are no longer using them, but no one will ever notice if you don't actually remove those 2 links, which will be deep inside the bell. (5) Thread the clapper back into the top of the bell, and screw the handle back into place. RESULT: Bell rings WAY better. This is a somewhat unfortunate manufacturing error, but is easy to fix. IF YOU ARE GIVING THE BELL TO SOMEONE AS A GIFT: Follow the procedure to shorten the chain on the clapper before gifting it - the recipient will be much happier with the bell.

This metal hand bell is beautifully made and works perfectly for weddings, dinner calls, or general service use. It has a clear, bright sound that carries well without being too loud. The size is comfortable to hold, and the design feels sturdy and elegant. It’s a simple but very useful item that adds a nice touch to any event or setting.

My husband forces me to use it when I need him from the bedroom because it's loud enough to be heard over the tv. He prefers it instead of yelling each others names, he doesn't want the neighbors to hear us calling each other lol! Luckily it sounds beautiful. The size and quality are good. Its a tough little bell because I have dropped it multiple times and it works as new!

The sound is tiny, I would buy a bigger one next time, but this does work as advertised.

Looks as expected but, way to small of a sound to be heard from the next room, or behind a closed door.
