It works - comfortable for cat
So like most pet owners, I was disheartened to watch my cat freak out and run his head into things when wearing a cone post-surgery. I gave the cone several tries over several days, and my cat just wouldn't take to it. He would wedge his cone somewhere to try to pull it off, which to me looked like it was starting to hurt his neck. He would pace aimlessly and not rest, running his head into things repeatedly, this couldn't be good for a cat post-surgery. I quickly looked for an alternative, and sadly so many alternatives don't work, the donut? Doesn't stop them from licking their behinds. I then saw this flower collar, initially I thought it was just for show, a gimmick. It looked cute but I didn't think it would work. Well I'm glad I gave it a try.Upon putting this on, my cat was relaxed and didn't mind it at all. Immediately he would lay down and rest, which is what they're supposed to do post-surgery. I initially got the Large version, which worked ok when he's resting, but he had difficulties walking around with them. The large is very large, they can't see where they're going and my cat would trip all over. He even stepped on the flower and was able to get his head out of the flower collar by accident. I got the large because well according to their weight chart I was supposed to get large. But let's be honest, cats come in all shapes and sizes, some are longer than others, some are heavier and stockier than others. So I bought the medium to try.My cat weighs 15 lbs, his neck measures 11 inches, and the medium fit him just fine, with plenty of breathing room. I've watched him carefully for a day just to make sure he can't reach his behind with the medium flower collar, and he couldn't. He certainly tried. I was so glad I found this because now I can let my cat relax, heal, and have his wound be completely protected. If you are thinking about getting this flower collar, be sure to take a day off and watch your cat to make sure it works for your cat. Some cats are more flexible and may have a longer body and can reach their behinds even with this collar on. Some cats are just like devil cats where they try to get out of anything you put around their neck.This flower collar may or may not work for you, but it did work for my cat. My cat had a surgery to remove abscess from his anal glands. So I needed something to prevent my cat from being able to lick his butt basically. With this flower collar, he's able to lick the end of his tail and his feet, but not his butt. So again, depending on what your needs are, do observe your cat carefully before you leave them alone with this flower collar. The cone is the worst invention ever, it obscures their peripheral vision, and muffles their hearing, I don't blame any cat for not wanting to have the cone on. You're basically asking a cat to not be a cat for 2 weeks with the cone on, and that's just cruel.Do yourself a favor, check this flower cone out. You may want to try one on your cat before your cat needs a surgery done. You just never know, all cats eventually will likely need some sort of operation done on them. The cone of shame is vet's go-to, you could get your cat used to this flower collar before even needing to use a cone. It will really help your cat relax and rest post-surgery. Just look at this pic of my cat, using the flower collar as a pillow. He is happier with this on, more relaxed, and that in turn makes me happier and less stressed.Yes he's able to wear this and use the litter box just fine. And yes he even climbed up on his 6 feet tall cat tree with this on. He's basically used to it and because he has complete freedom to do everything except lick his stiches, he's totally happy, and he's sleeping very well. We're having a great 2 weeks of healing time post-surgery thanks to this flower collar. Please try this before you settle with the cone of shame, and please do observe your cat carefully as cats are not all built the same.

Soft and friendly
Why did you pick this product vs others?:My cat was spayed and we didn't receive a cone for her. I bought one from the pet store and she HATED it, instantly removing it. We tried a t shirt wrap which worked until she got out of it. I ordered this and so far it has been working really well. She fought it at first but eventually grew into it. I got a medium and she is almost 6 months and just under 6 lbs. I was worried it would be too big but it could actually fit a smaller cat than her. I tightened it so I could still poke a finger through and tied a knot. She was able to eat with it but I have been bringing food to her mouth since I think that is easier. This has also been nice because she has been super hyper since the surgery and I think it may have calmed her by limiting jumping movement but not sure. She did struggle in the litter box since the flower hit the litter so that is my only concern and may just have a more shallow box with less litter.

Absolutely a good purchase
I'd give this ten stars if I could. I got the purple and the orange and they're basically identical. My cat is a very small boy, only 7 pounds, you'd easily think he was a kitten instead of the 4 year old brat he is. This still fit him, and he seems unable to get it off the way he could the plastic cone from the vet - I think because he can't brace it against anything and pull. He has an injury to his face that he needs to not scratch during healing for the next few weeks, and it has kept him from messing with it. It is also soft, so it is easy for him to sleep on, and it seems a lot safer than having a hard cone on that might rub his neck raw. Definitely worth it, plus he looks cute as heck and he got very mad when we called him a "pretty lil pumpkin boy" and "who's our little flower princess!"Only two drawbacks I see: probably wouldn't fit on a really really fat cat (15+ lbs), and if your cat is the kind that will panic and claw at the collar, the fabric of this does seem like it would get damaged,

Effective; great alternative to plastic cone
Adopted my sweet 10 month old girl from shelter; picked her up after spay. She could not tolerate the plastic cone. Got it off first time .. I put it back on. Five hours she was miserable and got if off again using hind feet. I had ordered one of those onesies/recovery suits as back up but vet stated those can get wet and also irritate the sutures. So happy I ordered this too. My girl is small 5.6 lbs. For size I went with medium based on the seller/manufacturer recommendation for this need/surgery. First time she got it off but then I put it on more securely (packaging gives tip for how to do this). Took her a few hours to get used to it but has been wonderful for the past three days. She looks adorable and it is a little pillow too. She has not been able to disturb the area of the surgery. Effective. Good alternative to the dreaded plastic cone.

Soft but petals too big, flops down
Soft, fairly easy to put on, however the flower petals seem to be too long/big; if they were a little shorter it would still make it difficult for kitty to lick her surgery area. It hangs down/over when she's eating, I was hoping it would be more like an open flower instead of a droopy flower. Kitty is 6.5lbs and neck circumference is 7 3/4" ordered Medium, wishing I ordered small but the size chart is a little confusing;

Comfortable and washable collar that does the job
My cat weighs about 10.5 lbs but he is long, thin, and flexible and he can use either the medium or the large. I needed to be sure he couldn't reach the area around his anus because he had an anal gland removed and I didn't want him messing around down there. With the medium he could get very close so I also bought a large size. That's actually a great idea because they can get dirty and if you have two of them, I i can wash one while he's wearing the other one. They are not heavy and they seem comfortable as he likes to sleep on it.He can eat while wearing it cut I usually take it off because he gets wet food and I didn't want him dragging the collar through the food. That would not be an issue for cats that are fed dry dog.
