decent for the price
The video quality is well enough to see what is happening, both cameras work great. It is worth the cost that you pay. The suction cup did stop working the second the temperature changed.. I tried sticky tapes and hairspray... I ended up havinf to ducttape it to my windshield, it does not like to stay up there. It is easy to install aslong as you can put the wire somewhere that is out of the way which can just be tucked into the car. I have not yet had to upload any of the footage for any reason, but the crash safety feature does work very well when you hit a bump or anything it emergency records!

It works!
Works for what you need to for, was in an accident and helped prove I was not at fault.

Buyer beware
Do not buy. Video resolution not enough to see license plates and has trouble detecting the memory card. Started saying “format memory card” and not recording video. Formatting the card did not solve the issue. Assuming it just isn’t built to be in the cold weather. Just pay real money for a quality camera from a reputable company.

Needs a micro SD card. Could really use to support more than a 64GB card given how it manages clips.
Okay, so a couple of things I might have liked to know. Perhaps most important and least obvious is that: 1. The Micro SD card is not included 2. The Recommended size is either 16GB or 32GB, and 32GB is maybe less than you think. In recommended (and advertised) 1080HD mode this thing consumes about 10GB of SD card every hour it is on. That gives you only about 3 hours of recordings on the SD cards. This means that if there is some nonsense that goes on in-side or outside the car that you want to capture ... Either you need to have stopped suddenly enough to trigger the G-sensor, or manually select to lock the video while the nonsense situation was happening, or or drive straight home to download the video. This is maybe not a deal killer if the only situation you might need to record is a collision totaling the vehicle, but if you are also concerned with having a record if a passenger is being inappropriate (or anything else that does not end your shift) you might need somethign with more storage capacity. The loop (if you set it up right) will mean that you don't actually run out of memory, but you might also not have evidence when you need if the car remains powered for more than 3 hours after the incident. 3. This says it accepts 64GB, but does not recommend that size for some reason. If it does work with that size that'd give you 6 hours. My solution was to change the settings and reduce the resolution to 720. Hopefully that works. Ultimately, you can't really use this as a 24hr security camera for your car. It will only keep 3 hours and anything that shook the car good. It did take about an hour to get set up and installed. Much of that was understanding the manual and checking all the settings. It will take up one of your 12V cigarette lighter/Accessory outlets. Probably not a big problem, unless you only have one in the first place (as I do). It does include a USB-A port on the back of the lighter plug, so you could still power/charge one other device if you needed to. It comes with a lot of extra cord with the intension that that be concealed within the trim around the window and dash. (I just skipped that step. It is not too much of an eye sore.) I like that the dashcam can actually mostly hide from my view behind my windscreen mounted cell phone holder, and still has a view of the inside of the car. This keeps me from having one more lighted screen looking at me with mostly useless info, and the rear facing camera only sticks out a little bit. The upshot is that it sees everything in the car and stuff out the front window without a problem, but I have to lean to the side to notice it. This is perfect for me because I already think there are too many visual obstructions to my view as a driver and I was concerned about having another. TL;DR: 1. If you don't have a dashcam get one, this one will do. 2. This one will do. 3. You'll need to buy a micro SC card separately. 4. Get at least a 32GB to 64GB micro SD card (Larger is not supported). 5. If something happens you need to record for evidence: a. It will record if the G-Sensor triggers strong enough b. You can manually press the "m" button to lock the video in the time it is still recording that short video clip. c. You will have to download the camera within 3 hours of running time after the event you need evidence of if you are not sure that the G-sensor locked it, or you didn't remember to manually lock the video. Very serviceable, yet I've seen better implementations of the memory management aspects in other dashcams.
