Works great, good connection, easy installation. I like design, value for money.

Prone to failure. There are cheaper smart alternatives.
There are junk. I wanted to love them. I kept buying and replacing them when they failed. They don't last two years and even under warranty customer support does not respond to address your warranty claim. The only way to contact them is thru an online form that creates a case number. These is no follow-up once the case is created and no response to any status update inquiries. I only use the Eve Aquas April through September and store them indoors during the winter in the north east.. The latest failure is the valve won't close so the irrigator runs continuously. I have been through 4 Aquas over the past 3 years. The HomeKIt integration is really great... when they work. Look elsewhere. There are plenty of smart water timers that are cheaper - so at least if the fail its only half the cost. I have replaced the Aquas with an alternative... fingers crossed.

Sturdy & Responsive!
This new Eve Aqua is perfect! The water pressure to the front of my Dad’s house is incredibly high, so the older version of the Aqua kept falling off (due to the plastic threads that attached to the spigot not being strong enough). This new Eve Aqua is very sturdy and now has metal threads that keep it locked tight on the spigot with no problems. We’ve tested it out for over a week now and it’s still on there tight. Besides this new Aqua looking a tad snazzier than the last version, it’s also much more responsive due to the built in Thread technology. The button on the front works immediately, and using the app/Siri has also no delay as well. We are looking forward to hooking up my Dad’s sprinkler system and setting up a watering schedule so he doesn’t have to crawl under the deck every time he needs to turn on the water. At 60 it’s getting a little more difficult for him to keep crawling under there, so this is incredibly convenient for him! (PS: we’re using the old Aqua on the back of the house with lower pressure and it’s working perfectly back there with no issues!)

Great product while it works
This product was great while it worked. It managed the automatic watering of my lawn and even adjusted for when there was rain forecasted (tie in to Apple iPhone shortcuts to check weather forecast). One main attraction for me was the Apple Home compatibility. But after several months it stopped worked accurately. It would turn water on but not off randomly. I did reach out to Eve support team and they were fantastic. They responded quickly and walked me through several steps to try to resolve the issues. Once they determined it was defective, I received a refund. So 5 stars for customer support, but unfortunately can’t say the same for the product.

Great Automoated valve - Needs a Thread device to connect to Apple HomeKit
I bought this to automate watering in a new garden bed. I wanted something that would work with Apple HomeKit. I previously bought some Eve magnetic door switches to monitor doors in the house. I could see those from my Apple Home and used them to trigger alerts on my phone. What I found with the Eve Aqua was that I could activate it from my phone - so long as I was within Bluetooth range. It would show on Apple Home, but only when I was near the Aqua with my phone. I read up a little on Eve's website and suspected my Apple TV was not new enough to Support thread. A conversation with Eve's tech support confirmed that. The other thing I learned was to be able to connect to HomeKit, you must have a non-battery powered Thread device to communicate with the an Eve battery powered thread device on the Thread network. I added an Eve Energy outlet switch and that did the trick. It talks to the Aqua and relays to the Apple TV. HomeKit is now happy. So it you want to automate the Aqua with your HomeKit, make sure you have compatible Thread devices to enable that communication.

Good except for the usage estimation
Works well with my Apple Home. Easy to set up using the Eve app. Only thing is it doesn’t actually measure water usage. You enter a flow rate and it just calculates usage based on how long the valve is open. Not actually measuring the volume of water directly. Lots of factors can mess with using the flow rate estimate. But works well.

Cannot recommend this product
I have had such great success with all of the other Eve products that I was excited to add the water valve to my smart home gear. Promises of long battery life, superior range (compared to WiFi) and broad compatibility with Matter over Thread, sign me up. Outcome, I would not buy this product again. Everything was great except for build quality. This is the second one that I purchased and they both have failed. Customer service was poor on my first experience and I ended up returning the valve to Amazon because I couldn’t get Eve customer service to help me. Chocking up the first product failure to build defect, I bought a second one. The product worked great for the 2024 summer. I turned on the sprayer today 4/24/25 to kick off watering for spring and I was met with a failed valve body, split at the injection molding seam. I am not going to bother with customer service again because it cost me time with people that I could not understand and they couldn’t fix my problem the first time. Bye Eve water products. You need better product QC and a more robust valve body.

Generally reliable but often fail
The mechanical older generation of these were better. The new version less effective and break quickly. Eve tech support is a joke and a run around. If no other option to pair with the HOME app then this is the choice. Otherwise try Rachio. Plus these are way too expensive.

Edit: Contacting Eve product support is brutal. Slow unhelpful responses. Looks like this unit is going back to Amazon. I really wanted to like this product. I did a lot of research before making my purchase. I understand that defective units can happen but when customer support is this bad I can’t support that type of company or their products. ———- This setup quickly and worked perfectly. This morning I went to check that the schedule had run the it was totally unresponsive. I’ve removed and changed batteries and I can’t get it to do anything. Can’t add it back to the app. Button on the front does nothing.

Don’t buy! The Eve Aqua device leaks and it doesn’t function well with Apple HomeKit. Product support is also non-existent. The Eve app is garbage too. Update: I have been communicating with Eve “customer support” and they’re universally unhelpful. I have received more than one message requesting the same exact information I provided to them previously. They’re favorite “solution” is to reset the Eve Aqua (something I have done multiple times). I have 20+ smart devices connected to my HomeKit and all of them function well. The Eve Aqua falls far short of doing what their advertising claims it does. Now they won’t accept the return of their apparently defective device. EVE AQUA DOES NOT HONOR THEIR WARRANTY.

This product works really well, no issues with the app or leaking! The only issue is that cost as it could be much lower.
