Works just fine
Not a bad tool for the price and for small jobs where you need a handNot the highest quality but fine at this price.I used it to hold a small device in place so I could solder it. Worked fine. A small pair of needle nose pliers comes on handy to use with it.

Great if you do Diamond Painting Art!
***Update I have found a use that this actually works for me. It works perfectly for my diamond art, holding my tools and magnifying the key card so I can see what stone to use where. It actually works very well in that capacity so I have added a star to my review!***I got this thinking it might be a nice helper for my card making or embossing crafts, but it's not what I was looking for or does what I was hoping for it to do. The individual pieces are maneuverable, but there are wing nuts and screws all over the place. You tighten one and another comes loose. It takes forever to get everything just so and all tight enough at the same time. The little rubber tipped, roach clip clamps are nice for holding things and the magnifier is great to increase visibility, the LED lights are even super bright. But the tool itself, is not very good quality in my opinion. It held a piece of paper fine but anything heavier and it topples over. Maybe I can use it as a stocking stuffer for Christmas this year.

Not great, not terrible.
Upon opening the box, I discovered two interesting things. One, I was (am) missing one of the alligator clips. Two, there was a small pair of needle nosed pliers in the box. So... disappointed on the one hand, but hey, free needle nosed pliers! The alligator clip isn't a huge deal. There was one, which is all I needed for my current project and I'll just buy some replacements. As far as the actual unit itself, it's about what you'd expect for the price. It has proven stable enough for soldering. The base is heavy enough for the kind of work you'd expect to be able to do with a unit this size. Especially if you install the three AAA batteries in the base. My only serious disappointment with it is that the lens is plastic or acrylic. On its own, while not ideal, that's not necessarily a horrible thing, in this case, the clarity is pretty bad. So keep that in mind. You can see through it, but the surface is uneven enough that it makes things on the other side very wavy. And the little "super magnifier" inset is completely useless. In summation, it's adequate for small jobs, but if you do a lot of work for which something like this would be useful, it's probably worth spending the extra money on something better.

Great Magnifier
I was looking for a small magnifier to hold my plastic modeling parts for detail work and I am glad I decided to use this one. The magnifier is powerful and the built in light works great to highlight the parts you are working on. The helping hands hold the pieces securely and the weighted base ensures a steady working experience.

Good light and magnifier, even for very close up, with clamps and iron holder is solid.
I'm always having problems with holding two pieces of wire, or a circuit board and soldering small details. With the magnifier, I can get close now, and with the clamps holding the wire, just a perfect, easy way to solder now, without running for my glasses. Good solid clamps, holds exactly where you want them, good power on magnifier with two powers, very clear, very nice. Light is good, floods well around the entire area of the clamps without shadowing. Good solid weighted base, will not fall over and a place for the soldering iron between fixes. Just perfect, no cons, can't think of a single one this time, where I am very happy with the purchase.

SAVE YOUR $. If purchased, treat like Vegan Bacon/ANYTHING pumpkin spice, throw directly in trash!
Absolutely nothing positive to say about this product. FIRST, it's almost impossible to place the iron holder in any position where it's not touching the plastic parts of the stand, so it damages itself when iron is placed in holder. SECOND, the ball/flex joints stay loose no matter how much you tighten the wing nuts. Whatever you're working on will not stay in position. THIRD, thank goodness i have great vision because the flex arm on the light/magnifier is too short. It's impossible to get it in position where you can see what you're & have room to get any tools to it (it's basically only good as a light if you keep the lens out of the way. The magnifier lens is just a random lens in NO-WAY designed to be used with this stand. FOURTH, the teeth on the clips are too sharp & the spring in them are far too strong. They will tear through the sheathing on any wire you put in them, and they damaged both the components on a board & then cracked the board itself. Had to put 2 layers of heat-shrink over the teeth just to keep them from damaging wires &/or componenets. LASTLY Stand/base is WAY too light weight, simply touching your iron to the board/wire your tying work on will tip it over. Yes you could mount it down, but small units like this are supposed to be mobile mini-stations meant to used on projects where you can't bring the project to your work bench. I made the mistake of not opening it until it was too late to return. So to summarize... Step 1: Do not purchase. Step 2: DO NOT PURCHASE! Step 3: (if necessary) Return the second it arrives. Step 4: If steps 1-3 are non optional, carefully remove product from package, gently place product on workbench or flat VERY solid surface (I recommend a concrete floor or driveway), smash THOROUGHLY with hammer/crowbar/or similar utensil! This should be worth at least $5-$10 in satisfaction out of the $15 you just wasted of this piece of garbage. In summation, I did not enjoy this purchase LOL! The mini needle-nose pliers were the only semi-useful item in the box.

Two more stable hands
I purchased this to assist me with a LED project. I am putting LED strip lights around my retaining wall at the pool. I had to cut the strips and then solder them back together. Using this device I was able to make all the connections perfect. We are talking 4 very small terminals at each connection point. I used the two hands to hold the LED strips and then the magnifying glass to help me see the small connections. The LED light makes it even better... Depending on what you are attaching to the arms, you may need to weigh down the device. Saved me hours and the pool lights look great....
