So far I'm fairly impressed
I'm impressed with the filter from just looking at it. It looks well made. I have not tried it yet. I ordered another filter from Ali express that looks identical to this one that was much cheaper and it is identical in feel and looks to this one, except without the brand name on the side. I'm sure this one is coming from the same manufacturer as they are identical on the filter pump and the RO filter. Here is the issue that will make or break this filter. Pressure. It takes around 65 psi to push water through an RO filter. If the pump mechanism can't produce 65 psi and do so reliability over time, then this filter is worthless. If the RO filter allows less psi then it's not filtering how a RO filter should. Also, chlorine is bad for RO filters and will damage the membranes over time. I recommend not testing your filter with city/town water or any water with chlorine with out treating the chlorine to remove it.

Ultrafilter easy to use and seems to work well, reverse osmosis filter is considerably trickier
This kit comes nicely packaged in a zippered case, with well-thought-out contents. It's one pump, and two different filter cartridges to put inside, with different pre-filter setups. The white ultrafilter is paired with an "aquarium stone" prefilter (for lack of a better term). You insert the filter in the pump in the "forward" direction when filtering water, and when you're done, you reverse the filter in the pump housing in order to back-flush it to clean it afterwards. It pumps pretty quickly and without a lot of effort. The blue reverse osmosis filter can only be inserted into the pump housing in one direction; the reverse osmosis filter cannot be backflushed. It is paired with a small ultrafilter pre-filter that itself has an aquarium stone at the very end. The RO filter is considerably trickier to use, and harder to pump. In addition to the input tube (coming from the ultrafilter prefilter) and the clean-water output tube, there is a 3rd tube for "wastewater", connected to a brass valve on top. You're supposed to adjust the valve to produce a 1:1 ratio of wastewater to clean water. So right away, you're losing half of your input water to wastewater. Adjusting this valve to reach that 1:1 ratio is very difficult, the valve doesn't give you fine enough control to make that easy, so you end up wasting a lot more than half of your input water. And the proper setting of the valve changes depending on how hard you pump, so unless you keep a consistent pumping rate, you're constantly readjusting that valve and trying to get back to your consistent pumping rate. And, pumping with the RO filter is hard. You can't just cheat the system by closing the wastewater valve completely because that just pushes the contaminants you're trying to filter out through the filter into what is supposed to be the clean water output. The instructions say that the filter is designed to work with input water that is under 500ppm of TDS (total dissolved solids), but under 500 is already drinkable water (ignoring other contaminants for the moment). I tried with input water of 2000ppm of table salt (that didn't work), and 1000ppm of table salt, which did just barely work, but pumping was hard and the amount of output clean water was small. In short, it's not going to work on ocean or even very brackish water, you need a fresh-water source. And, it did reduce TDS substantially. Cleaning the RO filter requires clean water to pump through the filter with the wastewater valve open more, and you have to backflush the prefilter. So, to use the RO filter you'll need a fresh water source and you'll have to pump a lot of extra water to clean the filters afterwards. My take is that you'd have to be in pretty desperate straights to put all that effort into using the RO filter, but that if you were, you'd be happy to have it. I ended up ordering 1 kit for each of my kids just to have in case of emergency.
