Exposed metal on banana plug when using attachments.
I agree with Reviewer 'Desertpilot' about the exposed metal on the banana plugs when using an attachment. This can certainly be an issue. So what I did is I cut about 3mm slices of 3/16th inch wire shrink-wrap and placed them over the exposed area of the banana plug and only on one end of the test lead that I will be using for the attachments. I plug the other 'bare' banana plug end of the test lead into my test equipment or power supply. See Photos. Shrink-wrap fit so snug I didn't have to heat them. BTW My set came with a plastic case but its very 'Cheesy' and wont last long.

I would gladly trade the plastic box and 8 pricks for 5 more alligators.
I'm a big Fluke and Pomona fan, but their probes and stuff have gotten so expensive that I either make my own or borrow.I happened upon these while surfing Amazon.I like the variety and price. In that order. Beware these are NOT Category III withstand. What I don't like is that the alligator clips are a bit on the flimsy side.Out of the 5 alligator clips, the red one would not close all the way, which is a huge problem when clamp connecting on thin wires -which is a real problem when measuring circuits with hazardous voltage or current. For comparison, Fluke clips have a jaw overbite that aggressively holds a wire lead -even down to 30ga components. These clips are weak and not reliable for thin leads without fiddling with. This could be cured simply by inspecting each clip before it leaves the assembly line.I believe I can remedy the clip, but for being new -aww #@$%. Minus a star in each category for that. Also kind of stingy with the number of clips. An even number would allow for pairing clips per lead. Thus the headline and 4 stars.Aside from that, I'm happy with the 1 meter long leads and molded banana terminations.Metrology-wise, on a 6-1/2 digit DMM (4 wire Kelvin mode with zero correction) I measure these as having 0.027 [+/- 0.007] Ohms of conductor resistance from banana to banana.Fairly consistent from one to the other of the 5 leads provided in the kit. This alone merits the ownership and use.The wire insulation is NOT silicone, but soft PVC. All else is polyethylene.I wonder how long they will stay soft. They should melt nicely if overloaded. The plastic container box is cheesy, but I hang my leads on a comb rack so not a big deal.Curiously, instead of 10 pin prick replacement probes, I got 15 including the 5 that are in the banana adapters. Not overly sharp and I don't like to use them bare as they are, but with an insulated sheath, okay.
