Wired to existing home doorbell wiring that charges battery in Eufy doorbell. Video and audio is excellent day or night. Live in Alberta Canada and we recently had very cold weather. This doorbell seems to shutdown when temperature is -23 celsius and remains off until temperature rises. Other than that problem it is a great device. Update February 2025 Had a loose doorbell transformer wire that was not secured fully. Tightened both wires and now camera works in extreme cold weather. Was -30 celsius this week and worked flawless without problems. Been very cold this winter and this has been put to the test. Very pleased and would now recommend this device for any extreme weather in Canada.

Im on the fence about this. The first week was great and camera works really well. But now there are pop up ads when i open the eufy security app, and having paid $400 for a premium doorbell cam that prides itself in not having subscription fees, it is disappointing to see pop up ads when you open the app. Im not talking promotions on the explore tab hidden away, im talking a splash page ad that you cant avoid and have to close in order to view your footage. If the ads don’t disappear i have no choice but to refund this and go with another company. I will update this review if the situation changes. *edit: So after contacting eufy support, they apologized and told me they have removed my email from ads, (your email is used to sign up fir a eufy account, that is then used for the system) The ads have since disappeared. Upgrading this to a 5 star review, dual camera is innovative and solid. Contact eufy to remove yourself from ads and this cam is 5stars.

I got this to replace my Ring Doorbell as I've found it useless without a subscription; which given that there are other options out there that don't require subscription, why should I be saddled with a monthly fee? My biggest issue with the Ring was by the time you get the notification there is someone at your door, open the app and load the live view, there is nothing to see. It just takes too long and the person has left. It doesn't even give you a still image for the last notification without subscription. Also the camera doesn't have a wide enough angle to see if there is a package waiting so I have no use for it. Had a week of below -30 C and the doorbell stopped working (low -36). It's since 'warmed' up to -29 and it's come back on line. It's not often that it gets that cold so I suppose I can live with it. If it stays below -30 I think I'll have to move anyway. I have it plugged in, but I'm assuming that it only charges the battery, and that it's the battery that doesn't work when it's super cold out... Pros - No blind spots. The package camera is a must have feature in my opinion. - Base station stores video, not the doorbell. So a thief can't rip off the doorbell to erase their presence. - Base station has decent range. Put it on the top floor in the opposite corner in the house. - Base station works both wired and wirelessly (but you need to initially set it up wired). - Package camera works really well, and you'll get a different notification if the AI detects a package - no subscription required for any of the features, unlike Ring where many of the features you need to pay for (not just storage). The only thing a subscription gives you extra is cloud storage. - Don't need to modify existing doorbell chime for wired operation, unlike many competitors - Optional face detection ('John was at the door') - Auto response - comes with optional horizontal tilt (pie shaped wedge) - base station also acts as a doorbell chime - Alexa integration (ex. turn on entrance lights at night when someone rings the doorbell, show camera in Echo Show, etc.) - So many other features, options, customizations... Cons - Doesn't support showing video on Alexa Show. Big Fail. - Didn't work during extreme cold (-35) - Doorbell is huge. Doesn't bother me but might not be for everyone - There is sometimes a small lag between hitting the doorbell and getting a notification, not really an issue for me - Video sometimes misses the start at the event. So for example, if I run out quickly to get a package, it will record but may not get the initial door opening and me bending down to pick it up, but will get me taking the package inside. I don't see this as a problem since enough is captured to determine what happened. And I could probably be fixed by adjusting the sensitivity. - expensive. I waited for a sale. - Didn't come with a vertical wedge (only horizontal). Usefully if you have angled vinyl siding. Overall I'm really happy with it and it was worth replacing my existing smart doorbell (I put the old one on the back door). If you don't want monthly fees this is the one to go with. Update: Two years later and they still haven't fixed video feeds in anything other than the Eufy app. I've spent a few weeks back and forth with tech support that claim it works but they haven't offered a working solution. I've tried: - Google Home - Alexa App - Echo Show - Eufy Website I have other cameras that work on all of the above and it didn't take any tinkering. I've spent days trying all the solutions on their support site. Their latest suggestions include opening up holes in my firewall and enabling port forwarding to a single device. Not a good idea (and it didn't work either). Much cheaper cameras support this, why can't Eufy? Update: I connected the doorbell to a different router (before it was Google WiFi/Nest) and it's working with Alexa now. All my other camera's work fine on the original router so I'm not sure why this one doesn't.

Alright, I'm editing this review. The original review is below. Long story short, I had major issues with the doorbell when the temperature dropped to 30 or so degrees. I contacted Eufy support, and after pushing in a new firmware did not fix the issue, they overnighted me a new doorbell. This one has worked flawlessly. I was tempted to update my review to 5 stars from the 1 star that I initially gave it. But knowing the issues that I had with my original doorbell, I didn't feel that would be fair. That being said, Eufy support is great. They go out of their way to make things right and don't hassle you. And again, the second doorbell was worked with absolutely no issues. I love it! ------Original review------ I received this doorbell last Tuesday. Setup was simple and I had it up and running in no time. The picture quality is great and I'm very happy with the feature set. I also have a hilarious video of the UPS guy trying to throw a package onto my porch that blew away mid flight... And his expletive filled tirade while he was chasing it down. I had minimal false notifications, and the night vision is really great. Extremely clear and I could see people walking in the dark half a block away. I was in love with this thing. Then Saturday came. I noticed that I didn't get a notification when my wife went out to get coffee in the morning. Then I didn't get a notification when she got home. I went on the porch and still nothing. I pressed the doorbell button, and nothing happened. I went back inside to check the Eufy app, and the doorbell started to ring about 15 seconds later. I checked the app and nobody was there, so it was clearly from when I I pressed it before. I figured maybe it was just a glitch and moved on. Then the mail was delivered and I didn't get any notification from the app. At this point, I tried to pull up a live view on the camera and I kept getting errors. Cannot connect to Doorbell -201 and Cannot Connect to Doorbell -3. Then it just said that the doorbell was offline. Today is Monday, and the issues are still persisting. I think it's the cold weather. It's been in the teens and 20s with high wind since Saturday. If I bring the doorbell inside and let it warm up, it works perfectly again for a few hours. It's extremely frustrating since it's supposedly rated for down to -4 degrees. When the doorbell works, it's awesome. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be working very often.
