I got this to make pearl strands to use as ornaments on my DIY furniture fix-up projects. I filled the mold with hot glue from my hot glue gun. The pearls came out surprisingly nicely when I filled them with my hot glue. The mold removed easily. They do need to be painted and sprayed with an opalescent paint to look pearly. They can be glued on easily. Only problem is the length. I wanted to use them on a piece of furniture that's four feet long. It would take MANY applications of hot glue to the mold to create "pearls" that long. I sort of gave up on that as the molds are–what? 8 or 10" long. I was impressed that though they're made for cooking, they took the hot glue very well. Didn't melt or anything. So–go for it if this is what you want.
